Whilst watching Gabriel's video of Cirse going to the Avril Lavigne gig I was struck with admiration (and a little envy) by their cool band van ! We've never had one band vehicle and have relied on several cars to get to gigs etc..

What about you guys ? Do any of you have vans/minibuses or do you just use your own seperate vehicles ? smile.gif

always been seperate cars, for a couple of gigs (and unsure of the legalities on load etc) but we did manage to squeeze 3 of us and all our gear (amps and guitars not drums) into one car and the drummer arrived seperatley with his kit, it was certainly a tight squeeze, I was ok, it was my car but the other two were certainly squashed! smile.gif

Mostly own vehicles, but I've had the experience to be taken in a van/bus to gigs smile.gif

Yeah, nothing beats the feeling of all going to the the gig together, which usually involves empty food wrappers on the floor of the van etc ! laugh.gif

I just start to play in band consisting more than two people, never gigged so never needed a car for that. But I do have a Toyota Hilux in my firm, and also a old "armored" car for transporting cash. So those two would do the trick quite well. But these aren't as charming as a "true barrel shaped van".

You're going to laugh at this but my girlfriend drives a Toyota Hilux.. and yes, we have used it to transport gear to gigs before (when the weather was good) !! laugh.gif

Armoured car though ? That's totally cool ! biggrin.gif

Hilux is a great car, and because of it height and size women do like driving it also:) I used it with my re-enactment group, was funny when two guys were hanging out of the windows while armed in halberds:P The whole car was filled with spears, shields and axes \m/ biggrin.gif

Well, Gabe's van is a van! biggrin.gif Imagine that a few years ago, we used to stash 4 people and instruments in this thing:

and we managed to have fun doing it biggrin.gif

We used cars, but it's definitely more fun to travel in a van. I traveled in a van lots of times on gigs, but they were all rented. It's cheap enough and the professional driver drives it. Would love to have the van Gab has, looks cool. It was always my dream to have that van, even when I wasn't thinking about touring smile.gif

Van is a very practical solution and much more fun. But several times, usually somewhere in the middle of nowhere, this same Van broke down , don't ask me how we got back home, heheh! Since then, just in case, we travel with two, three cars. wink.gif
