Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Neoclassical Etude #1 by Marcus Lavendell

Hello fellow guitarists :) I am kinda new here, but from what I've seen so far, it's a wonderful community and definitely the best place to improve at playing guitar! So this is my first take at this great lesson. I just LOVE neoclassical stuff and it was a lot of fun learning and playing this etude. Thanks Marcus! I would like to hear your comments, because I know this can get better and I would like to know where I am sloppy and what could be improved. Thanks a lot in advance, cheers :)

Woah guys, it's not often someone comes in on their first REC take and blitzes the house ! biggrin.gif

Dinaga, I have no suggestions because there are none to give ! (not relative to this lesson, anyway) The only thing I could possibly pick up on is that your vibrato technique could do with improving (but then I say that to everyone) laugh.gif

Really relaxed picking technique as well, I would be incredibly pleased if I were you ! cool.gif

Excellent take, very nicely played, everything sounds just right! smile.gif There are some minor things, but important ones, if we want to cover every detail evenly. The last bend was a bit weaker, and I believe you were a lot into the piece, not really showing any attitude here. On the other hand, it's more important to play it good, but that is one important step towards doing a very convincing take. All in all, great job! smile.gif
