The most emotional guitar for me would definately be David Gilmour, his solos just bring you somewhere else, i dont know what it is about them, but i love em!

Yeah - pretty simple stuff he plays but his phrasing is exquisite!

Yeah, especially live, he puts everything he has in all of his performances, I saw opeth on GIGANTOUR Last year, and when they played the solo to "A Fair Judgment" i was just amazed, Mikael is such an amazing guitarist.

i now have a fave. guitarist..andy timmons...and im starting to compile finally some insperational players that i really like, which would include Yngwie Malmstee, Any Timmons biggrin.gif, Santana, and Vai, I am still yet to compile teh list completely..but those are a few that i have found that i really liked the style, feel, licks, and everythign about them smile.gif

For me, the most emotional classical guitarists is definetly Andrew York. His playing is so melodic and never boring, the piano - forte differences in his pieces make me warm. laugh.gif I love playing his pieces, some are really hard to play such as "King Lotvin" and "Quicksilver" and "Marley´s Ghost", but after long practising them, I finally arrive to play them.

Another guitarist who plays with more than his heart is Carlos Santana. Imo, he is the best player in the whole world. I never saw one before who played as beautiful as him. Some examples:I think this is a good prove for my viewpoint. biggrin.gif

Edit:
Oh yes, I completely forgot to mention Steve Vai, he also has mastered the guitar, so he´s able to produce very emotional sound. You can see it in the popular "Tender Surrender" video.

Wow.

Well first off I'm glad this discussion gained so many replies.

Second, Ryan, that's exactly what I feel when I hear Cry For You too smile.gif

Third, yeah opeth's guitarist is incredible emotionly wise I love watching their live preformances on youtube, especially because they sound even better live then on their albums and maybe some day I'll be able to catch their show.

Fourth, I never really listend to old santana tunes, and therefor I havn't gained much respect for him, but the songs you posted here really opend my eyes. Iv'e really been missing out on him! so thank you for that.

Fifth and final, Andrew York is also amazing smile.gif

That´s no problem. biggrin.gif I really recommend to go on his concert, however I don´t remember anything. xD Oh yes, he said: "George Bush is a nightmare!" laugh.gif At that moment, everybody applauded like after his songs. laugh.gif

Dave Gilmour for me. His playing just takes you to another place. He can put more emotion into one simple note then any shredder can put into hundreds.
