Hi @ll,

as a new member of GMC some information about myself.

My Name is Bodo, 43 years old, living in Germany.

I bought my first guitar 1996, a Japan Strat, the first Korg Pandora Pocket Multieffect and a book called "Rock Guitar Bascis".
Planned to completely do it myself, and , what a surprise, the plan failed.
After six months my motivation reached its limit and the guitar wasn't touched anymore.
I started a new run every 1 or 2 years, but it ended the same way. mad.gif

Around 2004 i decided to join a class of guitar beginners in an adult education center to learn the basics.
I bought an acoustic guitar and had 4 semesters of guitar education in that group.

But the songs we played were, hm, ... not my prefered music. 70th and earlier. rolleyes.gif

I met a guitar player and instructor, who was playing in a locally well known band, at my age and, more important, with the same music preference.
We started with songs from Scorpions, Metallica, Saxon and Billy Idol. Only the rhythm parts, as i'm still a beginner, but that was really fun.
Unfortunately that ended, because i had not enough time to practice from lesson to lesson. This was one year ago.

In the course of time i modified my Strat and replaced the neck and bridge single coils with 2 humbuckers, replaced the standard volume with push/pull switch to switch the neck hb for use as a sc.
Bought a pod xt and marshall mx30dfx, used the guitar port for a while and tried recording on the PC. So a big part was playing with the technics smile.gif

So, as you can see on the list of bands above, i'm basically focused on the metal part of music.

I found Adrian Figallo's lesson "Los Ramones" at GMC, playable for me i thought and i like the song and the sound.
Practicing that song with the background track is really great, and thus i become a GMC member.

That's it for now.

Cheers, Bodo
