Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Rock Solo - Beginner by Trond Vold

hello. this is my -first- entry and of course i heard Trond's rock solo is the hit here :D the harmonics part failed me many times and was so noisy not that i can't get it but most of the times was noisy, as i turned to many harmonics lessons. i can say i can get it by chance! :( but harmonics for a single string is some how easy but like this one for four strings in a row is noisy! let me have my feed back :D

Very good take, with proper bending tone and picking. Timing is also very satisfying. The problem here are vibratos. As said in the previous take, try to practice them a bit more, this is not right the way you do it. Check Ben's VIbrato Odyssey, or check this response of mine from couple of years back on how I practiced them (file response.rar)

Really good interpretation of this solo !

Your harmonics were perfect here, your timing was good and so was your bending.

As Ivan said, your vibrato is a little bit behind the rest of your technique. If you check out my lesson 'Ben's Vibrato Odyssey' I explain how you can use your other fingers to make your vibrato stronger and more accurate smile.gif

can't agree more here, you just need to work a bit on your vibrato man, great take!
