> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hail Rhoads !

I think you made a good effort here. This is quite a difficult style to emulate because of the way the licks flow over the beat without definite timing. In order to make it flow better, you need to rely on your own inner rhythm to guide you. It will help you to focus on the start point and the end point of these licks.. if you focus more on these 'stand out' notes then the rest of the phrase can be allowed to flow at your own natural pace.

I noticed that you were more precise and positive with the 'sharp, sudden' BB King style notes - good work cool.gif

This is a very good take. I think that you just need some days of playing it to feel more comfortable with the phrases, bends and vibrato. You did a good job and I think that you could get a 10 with just some more practice.

Excellent take. You got into the groove very nicely, and syncopated the phrases in a very natural way. I like it! smile.gif The feel was very good as well. The only reason I didn't give a 10 is because you did made some mistakes, some bends weren't precise. Very good vibrato, keep doing it - you're on the right track! smile.gif

Ahaha I am NOT too late to grade you mate biggrin.gif well, aside from the slightly out of pitch bends, it seems to me that you only have to play it more and more, until it starts flowing inside you. I think that's going to be a ten wink.gif give it some time to rest and then take it for another spin!
