Hey Ben here is my take for the collab. I came down to two really good takes, and could not decide which to use, so this one won the coin toss. tongue.gif

Really enjoyed working with this track, it challenged me to play faster than I usually do, and am looking forward to hearing the final mix!

Ass kicking take my friend ! Love that bend / slow release bit near the beginning !! cool.gif

This collab is shaping up very nicely ! \m/

Of course, today was the deadline for this collab. Anybody who wanted to but hasn't yet submitted their take.. if you get it done before Saturday you may still make it ! smile.gif

Lots of rocking takes from everyone !!

Hungry - Love your tone and note choice as usual. Repetition is always good in a solo but be careful not to overdo it otherwise it can sound to the listener as if you've run out of ideas (which happens to me a lot!)

Quadrium - Lots of attitude which is always good. I would say the same to you as I did to Hungry, if you're going to repeat phrases, perhaps introduce some variations to keep them from sounding the same. Introduce some different notes, or some bends maybe.

Casinostrat - Very nice tone and feel.. I love that slow, picked note ! Some of the pentatonic runs (especially the one at the end) lack direction - they feel as if they are meandering. Try to establish a stronger rhythm and decide on a strong target note that you want to end your run with, that will help with this smile.gif

Todd, Chris & Myself - I get the strong feeling we all blazed away and thought 'To hell with accuracy !'. I know I sure did ! wink.gif Rather than worry about my bad notes, I thought I'd leave everything as it is and capture the moment !

Awesome stuff, gentlemen ! And you should notice the mix sounding a bit louder than my usual audio files (I hope) wink.gif

This turned out KILLER! Great playing by everyone! Also, AWESOME backing. And the mix sounds great as a bonus! I remember trying to mix my last collab and it was a real challenge to mix in the varying signals that I wasn't used to working with. It's a great mixing workout so to speak!

I hope you wont think it impertinent of me, but I felt compelled to make the killer mix even more aggressive with a quick an dirty Mastering pass. It's a bit over the top in terms of mastering but what did you expect? That's me smile.gif

Yeah it was fun to mix.. it wasn't too hard this time, I just altered the gain a few decibels here and there on peeople's individual audio files if they were to loud or too quiet, slapped some delay on and there you have it ! cool.gif

Nothing wrong with over the top !! \m/

Totally Agree! It was an honor to play with such shred masters as we had involved in this collab, and a special thanks goes to Ben and Todd for the awesome final mixes! biggrin.gif
