Tom-
been playin for about 6 years and spent all that time doing covers. the last year I've grown a lot more creative and write my own music. I just want to get a better understanding of the instrument in my hands.
Love all styles of music
super beginner just learning pentatonic and simple chord progressions,I have great dexterity and can play all the tricks, can play many difficult songs but dont really know where to go from here except more scales, more chords, and more licks. I use the lessons videos and they have been a great help thx GMC!

Hi Tom and welcome to GMC! smile.gif
What I would suggest is to always try to use the lessons to full potential. If you are learning a cool solo lesson, try to improvise your own solo over same backing track once you are done with the lesson. Use the same scale as instructors and just "steal" some licks from the original solo. It will open up a lot of possibilities for you. Also if you haven't, try using REC and Collaborations on GMC.

See you around the forum smile.gif

I'm Todd and I do our Saturday Video Chat each week at 5pm EST and 10 pm GMT, and I'd like to invite you to drop by! Try to jump in to as many of the video chat lessons as you can. The vid chats are part of what makes GMC so great. Being able to ask questions and interact with other students and instructors in real time is a great way to get better quick.

Todd
