> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Minor vs Major - Intermediate by Muris Varajic

Hey guys, This is my first entry. The last run in this song gave me the most trouble because of the timing. Thanks for viewing. I appreciate all feedback.

Excellent tone, good picking and nice techniques in general. The problems here are timing and vibratos. They need to be polished, timing is a bit shaky during the take, try to lock to the drums more. Bends need to be precisely in pitch, try to work on that as well. The last part of the solo, that 3nps legato part should be a lot more precise. Try working on it on a slow speed. Usually the last parts of solos are done with less attention to detail, but they make best impression.

Hey there! You need to lock in with the groove! you are playing the piece just by focusing on your fingers I think smile.gif try to listen to the groove itself and tap your foot to the ground in order to internalize the tempo and feel of the melody! Once you will get these going, you will play more fluidly and things will resolve themselves! Pay attention at the bends as well! Ivan pointed out important things, so analyze and apply wink.gif Keep rocking mate! An congrats! You have just received your REC blessing biggrin.gif

Hey Zeus I love that guitar !!! Explorers are just epic cool.gif

Ok, the biggest thing that requires some work in my opinion would be the timing. That first bend you played, though, was totally accurate even if there was no vibrato. If you can maintain that precise pitch control in all your bends you'll be laughing wink.gif

Hi man, this take sounds nice. I like your tone. As the other instructors said, the main problem here is the timing. You have to concentrate on it and maybe try to play the solo over the original one to emulate the timing of it.
