Teehee... please peruse the following link. I was particularly drawn to the phrase "...not as intensely flavoured as British Marmite" wink.gif

D'oh!!!

Dam you and your quick and accurate.... wikipedia searching..... sad.gif

I actually fed a tiny bit of it to my 6 month old son the other day.....wow, the face he made when he tasted it, was like I had fed him vinegar and lemon juice.....he looked up at me and gave an expression as if to say, "Why?, Why do you hate me?"

Haha... if some people tasted it, it could be argued that the previous sentence was child abuse....

Both originally a by-product of beer manufacturing, the brewers yeast extract. Smell bad enough to give me blood noses when I was younger. Tastes extremely salty, bitter, as a sticky, dark brown paste. And that's not the worst part, also contains vegables! Why would you go and give that to your kids? Child abuse! wacko.gif

There's an urban myth that it is banned in British prisons because it can be used to make hooch. In 2002 it was reported that inmates at Featherstone jail, near Wolverhampton, were using it, along with fermented fruit and vegetables, to make moonshine. laugh.gif

Yeah, brewer's yeast is supposed to be really good for you and people buy it as supplements n stuff.

Haha, I'd never heard that. I heard they used to ferment oranges and stuff by keeping them behind their radiators but that's about all.. tongue.gif

As one lady mentioned in a Radio interview:-
"This accident is clearly Biblically Philosophical as it clearly says in the Bible that nothing should travel up the Marmite Motorway!!!!!"
I had to stop working for a while until I stopped laughing!!!

My Canadian taste buds cannot handle Marmite... or vegemite for that matter. (Well at least that's what my british friends tell me laugh.gif ) Not a fan of either to be honest.
