Hi!
I'm looking to replace the pick-ups in an old strat copy just to improve it a bit, What would you recommend for new good strat style pick-ups? thanks so much! -------------------- Visit my:

Hola Dani,
I installed the Texas Special pickups on my Strat and I'm really happy with their performance, you can get a really nice thick blues sound out of them, the only thing that I don't like is that they are to noisy, so I was thinking maybe in replacing the bridge pickup for a single coiled Humbucker. I still don't know aboput that. -------------------- |

Really depends on how much you want to spend Daniel!!
Tone Riders are good for a budget type replacement, for a more top of the range set you could look at Lindy Fralins. Fender Texas Specials (as Coffeeman says) are a fair all rounder as are any of the Seymour Duncan sets. (Antiquity Texas Hot or the Vintage Staggered SSL- 1) Or even a combination of different types/manufacturers! What kind of sound are you after? ![]() -------------------- I'd rather have a full Bottle in front of me than a full Frontal Lobotomy!!

I wonder what the YJM Yngwie pickups are like. They're supposed to be stacked single coils I think

Depends what kind of music you prefer. For classic Strat vibe, I've heard several guitars with vintage 57 pups work very very nicely and soft. For little aggressive blues, Texas Special is the way to go, for some aggressive playing/shredding in general, it would be nice to check out Dimarzio Injecktor, choice of Paul GIlbert, which are hum-canceling, and hotter.

Check out D.Allen Pickups. They're great pickups and they won't break the bank. I just got a pair and am going to install them in the neck and middle.

I just shelled out for a set of Fender 57/62s in a pre-wired pick guard. I am trying for a completely classic Fender vibe, I'll post some clips as soon as I get it all working ....
