My First Solo!

The song is called "The Lost Mariner" and my band is a power metal band from italy called "Kalidia" (just like my nick..). The key is Cminor/Eb, it incorporates some phrases, some neoclassical cliches and at the end a legato run. I try to develop the solo throught the concept of making a clear beginning, some pause and a clear ending. Every suggestions is welcom and so the criticics: my playing here is far from perfection , i'm aware of the weak vibrato and licks and scales runs are not perfect on tempo, so i would appreciate more comments and critics on the solo-writings things i'm gonna make it sound perfect and works on the techinques later on.. Your solo construction isn't bad at all.. there wasn't only one note that didn't sound right to me. It was the note at 0:12. In music theory it's ok but for some reason it sounds like a naive phrase, I don't know why. Probably because it would sound more suited to a bluesy track. I would be tempted to choose an interval like the 5th. If the chord underneath is Eb then the 5th would be A#. After you've done that bend and then released it to the 8th fret, try playing the A# on the B string, 11th fret. It should coincide nicely with the move the the Eb chord. Other than that, try to avoid pausing and letting licks sound like exercises. Try to link them all up if you can to make things smoother and sound more natural. One way of doing this is just to play a couple of notes at a slower tempo to link two faster phrases together. You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick.
