Try to make a top 5 or something like that xD

My top 6 (couldnt stick to 5) would probably look like this:

6 Seventh Wonder
5 Symphony x
4 Pink Floyd
3 Steven Willson
2 Edge of Sanity
1 Dream Theater

BTW, one of my friends is in a progressive rock band (; check it out biggrin.gif

1. Opeth

2. Yes(Peter Banks Steve Howe Era's) I HIGHLY recommend the album Close to the Edge. That song alone is amazing(My ex-girlfriend's dad subs for Steve Howe. He is also in a band called YOSO if you want to check them out. His name is John Bruhns.)

3. Exivious

4. Arsis(This point could be argued)

5. The Beatles(Sgt. Peppers is quite progressive)

6. Web, Specifically an album called " I, Spider". This album was Mikael Akerfeldt's biggest inspiration for Opeth's Heritage album(I found that out from a terrorizer article). Below is a link to the album playlist on YouTube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsR_KwCwnKg...B0E72687C352C69

7. Comus. Their music is trippy as hell, and it sounds awesome. Look for a song called "Diana". It is on YouTube.

8. Nevermore

I will stop there. I felt as if those were the most important of them all. There were some obvious bands I left out because they were already mentioned. I had to mention Opeth because they are my favourite. I have almost a terrabyte of Prog/Psychedelic music and Black/Folk/Viking Metal. PM me know if you want more. biggrin.gif

1. Tool
2. Karnivool
3. Dream Theater
4. Opeth
5. Porcupine tree

I think Tool is progressive as hell, but it just ALWAYS goes out of the typical prog band recipe biggrin.gif

I'm not a huge prog fan, but I like these bands:

Dream Theater
Pink Floyd
Rush
Symphony X
Opeth
I would also call Deep Purple progressive...
