> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Defining Armageddon - Solo by Ben Higgins

Well here it is. There's absolutely no way I can get it as perfect as Ben but I thought I better post this before this solo starts haunting me in my dreams :D

WOW ! What a performance my friend ! biggrin.gif

You've got great timing, feel and I love that bit of circular vibrato at the beginning. cool.gif

Some of the bends were a little under pitch and some of the notes didn't ring out in the fast passages but aside from that, you did an excellent job ! I really like your tone too, what software/effects are you using ?

Well, I think this was great, you certainly tried hard to do it, and I can feel that you like this solo, which is a positive sign. You still need to polish it up, there is some noise, and some mistakes, as you said it yourself, but you are on the right track. It's very important to keep it simple sometimes too, and to be careful about every note. If you don't do this, you risk of being a "dirty" player in the future.
