Hmmm.... I was a massive Van Halen fan back in the day....one of the reasons/inspirations I picked up the guitar....

IMO

+1 point for Eddie Wearing runners while playing, i do the same :-)
-1 point for David Lee Roth.... he is a tool, Sammy was their best singer....
-1 point for DLR clothes
-1 point for not having any real Tattoo's but singing a song called Tattoo
-1 point for no Michael Anthony on Bass

I love Van Halen, and would love to see em Live so I am glad they r back, we will see what other new songs they have i guess.

Well....

Eddie awesome sound and playing as always.
Glad to hear David's vocals again.
Needed Michael on the bass.
Liked the clean cut look of the band.

David is corny on stage in this video.
The lyric content was pretty lame although the vocal mix was pretty good.

Wonder how much cocaine David did before during or after the take...

I too like Sammy better as a performer and band member, but David still has the chops.

Hopefully the next song will be better.

Haha... yes interesting indeed. I don't know about DLR as a frontman though, can he be taken seriously? Ever?

AND, how will he go singing the Sammy Hagar songs when they tour?

Heavy sigh dry.gif what happened to my boys? They havent been able to get it right since Sammy left. I saw VH back when they had the singer from Extreme, very disapointing, Micheal Anthony blew him away when he started singing some of Sammys songs from VH.That was the best part of the show.I hope there are some better tracks on this album with Roth up front again.I gotta say right now so far I am liking Chickenfoot much more. Does anyone else think Eddie's new guitar is fugly?
PS: Roth looks a bit like Chris Kattan from Sat Nite Live to me now with that short hair. tongue.gif

I've always loved everything that Eddie does. As for DLR, well, he is who he is and pulls it off ok for his age I guess. Hey, we all get older don't we? But I like the way Eddie's guitar gives Dave room to cut through the mix in this. Nice work from the old boys. Definately want to hear some more from them. Maybe they've both got a coach telling them, "Hey Eddie, don't walk all over the lyrics" and "Hey Dave don't be such a %$^#@! laugh.gif

Eddie sounds great.. I really hope he can stay off the bottle this time around. His talent is through the roof and seeing that pissed away by being hammered all the time is really a sad thing.

Dave sounds okay but no where near the vocalist Sammy is.. but it does sound more Vintage VH so what the hell. Funny that the missing ingredient for me is Michael Anthony's backing vocals which are really a staple of the VH sound.

Cheers!

Eddie was great as always, but the song is pure trash, i'm sorry VH fans, but this songs (as a song, not comparing the music) is on the justin bieber league.

I like their sound but with these kind of lyrics, maybe they'll have the Spice Girls open for them.
