And here is mine.. I just noticed that the lead guitar is mixed a bit high, but I'm assuming you set the levels any way you like them.

I tried to go for the melodic approach, whatever that means. I'd love to work some more on this one, but I won't have time the coming week, so this will have to be it for this time.

OK Ben, here's a take... Not very happy with it, should be called RoughAndSloppyJustice in my case, but better than nothing I guess? I would have liked some more time to refine and practice on it, but tomorrow start hell week at work so no time then...

Oh and as for HungryForHeaven and WeePee: Great takes, really nice and clean stuff there!

Whoa!! Killer, and I really dig the "melodic approach", as you refer to it. Reminds me of Randy Rhoads.

If I get time tomorrow I'll try and post a take, although I'm in the process of getting an audio interface so I can record direct, and in the meantime I'll only be able to submit a "live video" for fun purposes only. tongue.gif

Also, I'm not much of a shredder, so it will be interesting to see what comes out of my head & hands. Really dig the rhythm track, so I figure I'll give it a go. No time at the moment, or I would right now!!

I have 2 things to say...

1) Technically you're 2 days late for the collab.. luckily for you, I've been delayed by other things so your fingers are safe this time tongue.gif

2) Crazy Train ???? biggrin.gif

Just kidding, it's always a pleasure to have you on the collabs (and it's also necessary to have at least 1 German involved) laugh.gif

I like your little cheeky repeating 3 note legato lick wink.gif

Duuuuuuuuuudes, here it is !

I didn't get any time to put anything on this one but it didn't need it anyway because it rocks !!

Right, the pickup is full of gasoline, we're loaded with 'equalisers' (weapons) and this is on the stereo !! cool.gif

Attached File  Rough_Justice_Final.mp3 ( 5.65MB ) Number of downloads: 131

H4H: As always, nice tone and professional sounding touch to all your phrases. Halfway through the harmonies, that pause sounds a little awkward, as if you've run out of ideas and are waiting for the next bit to start again. Perhaps a double stop bend or divebomb would be a good thing to put in places like that.

Gitarrero: Cheeky little use of Crazy Train there ! I know that you're paying more attention these days to picking good, strong melodies and notes. Just perhaps try to be a bit more decisive in that area as it sounds 'meandering' sometimes but that's all.

WeePee: Very nice take. I like how you always explore the boundaries of using other scales etc.. watch out for occasional dodgy notes like at 2:14. Great double stop bend to finish off with !

Ztevie: Do I hear a Satriani line in there from Crushing Day ? wink.gif Yours and WeePee's takes have a similar feel to the them and I thought they complimented each other very well one after the other. I had to boost the highs in your tones a little to bring them out a bit. Watch out for bends going a bit sharp but all good.

A really kick ass result guys.. give yourselves some donuts !! cool.gif

Woohoo, Donuts! Thanks for the feedback smile.gif
Yeah, I am really focusing more on melodies, however, most of my takes are improvised and I sometimes lack direction. But I'll work on that.
Now I gotta find out what this "crazy train" is you keep talking about... laugh.gif

Thanks Ben! Crushing Day by Satriani? I know this song, but I have never played a note from it and I think it must be at least 10 years since I've heard it... Coinsidence I guess.

You're right about some awkward bends. Overall I feel you were a bit too nice, I really didn't get the fast parts tight enough, but next time I will!!

Kudos for the other three in the collab!

Crazy Train, by Ozzy Osbourne (with RANDY RHODES on guitar!! One of his most famous tracks!!)!!

I'm almost certain you'll recognize it when you hear it....because you did actually play part of that riff!! I do that all of the time, where you play a riff you don't know that you know. It's all "inspiration" coming out of your hands!!

Great take!

Those are really kind words, thank you man! smile.gif Never thought of myself as influenced by Randy, but perhaps you are right.

Busted! ph34r.gif
I was gonna compose a variation of the first half, bridged by a cool legato transition or something. Unfortunately, I ran out of time, so I went the cut'n'paste way. blink.gif

Anyway, this was a really nice project with a great backing. As always, thanks to the other guys who participated in this collab, and thanks to Ben for putting it all together!
