I'm pretty stoked - This documentary is premiering on March 3rd and I got my tickets.

He'll be there. Hopefully a few other big names will be there too. Looking forward to it. Anyone else going?

Chris

(Listening to Perpetual Burn while reading this thread)

I learned about Jason Becker because of GMC. What an amazing man. I have to say I'm a little envious you are going to the event. How amazing it will be just to be in the same room with him. Better take a hanky or kleenex...I'll bet it is going to be an emotional night that you'll never forget.

I met him during a Cacophony Tour along with Marty Friedman. I've been following his story the past decade - truly a tragedy, and I'm really anxious to see the documentary and Jason/Family on stage. I don't think I'll need a hanky smile.gif I'll tell you about it after the show though. Not sure what to expect.

Cheers!

I am not sure why I am so interested in this story but here is a link to a video by the local news station about the movie.

The movie was GREAT. Well worth seeing. Jason and his family were there to field Q/A after the show. The documentary had tons of footage that you won't find on YouTube - most of it family life, some of it concert footage and messing around. The movie was about an hour long, seemed like longer - very well done documentary too - which took me surprise given the fact it was the first movie produced by this director. It's definitely a top-notch production - I don't need to tell you to see it - no brainer for those of you who love Jason Becker, but it doesn't let you down.

Jason was in the audience watching the premier - it was really wild, and having him there really brought home the full feeling of the documentary You really get a good sense of how much his parents love and sacrifice daily for his care. Really amazing night. I only got one picture of him on stage - it's on my Facebook page. I was kind of too far back to get a good picture on my iPhone.

On the way out, I was pulled aside by BAM magazine and they did a video interview with me about the documentary and the night as a whole. They haven't put anything up on their site - not sure if they'll use me or not, but if they do I'll post a link. Pretty amazing night. Still on a high.

Cheers!

Thanks so much for sharing! Just to see him up there on stage must have felt great. I understand you are disappointed that the picture was small, but it's always good to have your own picture! It's really cool that you got interviewed by BAM. smile.gif

I'm watching the dvd, and it's heartbreaking, but also inspiring and motivating.

This dvd is a must watch for every guitar player.
