Sorry Cosmin, i have been feeling pretty crappy to move my muscles, but i do have one question.

i was studying Ben's Picking Arpeggios and i have managed to identify all notes for all the fancy name chords, what i want to know is, if for example the AddX, or the addX/Note only work as an embellishment? or do it actually mess up with the chord progression?

Hy Renato - I usually use them in the following situations:

1) I like their sound and I want a 2nd/ 9th to have a place in there for instance - so this is the case of embelishments
2) I find the minor chord too heavy in a certain progression and I want to lighten things up a bit, so I replace the minor quality with a sus2 for instance

This is how I do it smile.gif

And just when i thought that i was in a good way with chord a new whole realm appears laugh.gif, but yeh i think i got it.

anyways heres le funk, the traditional chunk chunk, and the no chunk chunk, there are some parts of the no chunk chunk that are a bit rushed, i also noticed a bug in my right hand, i tend to hit the higher notes more often then lowers, so i am not actually hittin the whole chord, got to work on that.

Hey Renato! Good vids, nice playing and good observations - focus on staying groovy and consistent with the strumming, ok? smile.gif Now, you know how I like to bust in and make things more difficult each time, right? biggrin.gif

Well, I want you to record the EXACT same too videos using the backing tracks I provided here wink.gif

If this goes well, we're moving forward (got no doubt it will work out!!)

What say you?

Cosmin

io Cosmin i thought i do share this little improv i did, i really like to play stuff like this while chillin in my room lookin at the window and staring at people laugh.gif

there is a lot of static, distortion, in the background, but i like it, it reminds me of those rainy dark days when u are at home next to the fireplace.

One of my favorite things in guitar with distortion is that moment at the very start and 0:36 where the notes clashing each other while we let then ring, i just like the way it sounds laugh.gif

Hey Cosmin ._. my right arm is really killin me, too much time gamin, and guitar...i think i might aswell take a week off to rest.
Since i don't really want to put myself in a situation of serious damange, i need to get some kind distraction, and there is one thing.

I would like to work with you on something, but i don't really want to eat too much of your time.
You see i have this like huge urge to compose music, i am always coming up with ideas, but never ..a song.
Dark, pop, epic, metal, i don't really care, i just have this thing inside....that i can't really to get it out, But... i am a noob laugh.gif , and when i try to compose it i can't put what i hear in my head without some experimentation, cuz well i can't translate it yet, what i hear...i mean, and so with that experimentation i got all mess up and lose the melody that i inital had, and end up givin up; other times, i have this solo, but i can't come up with a backin for it, a decent, interessiting backing for it, and i have like no clue about drummin biggrin.gif

i don't want to write a 20 min song, but if you could help me out, writtin a full song from head to feets while i am resting my arms, it would be a milestone, and i would apprecite very deeply much.

Well, of course I can help out biggrin.gif But you kinda need your hands man smile.gif Who's gonna record the stuff? You see, song writing is not like practicing. It needs a state of mind wink.gif It took me a lot of time until I got to write my first tune - about 6 years I think, so. Take it easy, rest and we will start fresh. Focus: songwriting and funky grooving, ok?

actually i am tryin to make a kind of a funky song, i will post as soon as i am stuck ahah laugh.gif

Hey Cosmin, my arms are feelin much, much better!, i haven't managed to work in music at all this week. Having some stress with school ._..

But there was this one class that we didn't have a teacher, so i grabbed my notebook and began to write scales and stuff, i tried to do the circle of fifths with sharps, but je ne se pas if it is correct?

What do you think?

C D E F G A B C
G A B C D E F# G
D E F# G A B C# D
A B C# D E F# G# A
E F# G# A B C# D# E
B C# D# E F# G# A# B
F# G# A# B C# D# E# F#
C# D# E# F# G# A# B# C#
G# A# B# C# D# E# F# G#
D# E# F## G# A# B# C## D#
A# B# C## D# E# F## G## A#
E# F## G## A# B# C## D## E#
B# C## D## E# F## G## A## B# which is the same as C D E F G A B C

Howdy Renato biggrin.gif This is correct, but I would transform F# major into Gb major and write down the scales using flats from that point on smile.gif Using ## is tenuous and it's not of too much practical usage wink.gif

Try the transformation wink.gif
