* You haven't missed my latest video lessons, have you?

* Oh and did you know that to become a killer guitarist you just need to focus on one thing? Everything
else is secondary. Pm me and I will explain.

No idea what to write so gonna start from 0.

Well, i have been playing for 2 and half years nows; if i had to rank myself i would say my skill is between 1 and 6, it depends on the area; for example i suck at sweep, i can do some musically noise when we talk about 3 string sweep, but beside that it's just noise noise, if you know what i mean.

when it comes to what i wanna play/achieve it's well, very hard to describre; i love music (pop;metal;rock;funk;progressive;experimental;post-rock etc, etc)
but well lazyness is part of my personallity and that reflects a bit on the practice and life; for example i hate hate hate learning solos is so boring, that's probably one of the reasons my lead guitar is weak.

Nowadays i have been practice; Rust in Peace and Holy Wars by Megadeth (trying to get that tight thrashin rythm/right hand) and Overture 1928 by Dream Theater and Overload by Bumblefoot (training lead licks with these songs)

Things i would love to play and i don't have much experience:C
Rythm : err i don't have any cool example...well stuff like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Os7d8eQoe6c ; Funky Rockish stuff. and i tend to lose control on my right hand when it comes to arpeggios for example such as the beginning of this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jr1uk2SvbY
Lead: anything!

When it comes to theory, i know the intervals, chords (major, minor, 7ths); Major and Minor(pentatonic, Blues) scale and i can mess around with Dorian mode a bit (My vocabulary sucks biggrin.gif), i know how inversions works but never actually apply it in my playing, about ear training , gonna start workin on Relative pitch by David lucas once again.

My main goal is to be able to play what i like/write and want and to have full control and awareness of my playing and those who surrend me : )

PS::C unfortunately i don't have away to record my self, thing i am trying to fix, i do however have the possibility to record some sound trough my roland cube, not in my the best quality but fair enough.´
PPS: maybe i can manage to record some videos after all, with the laptop camera.

sorry any typo ph34r.gif

Mate, you want to swim in deep waters which is a very good thing! biggrin.gif

If you could record something with the camera post it here, it would be awesome as I could have a look and listen - in that way things would be a lot easier, in respect to what we should start with and what we should insist upon in your training biggrin.gif

The quality is not that important, so go ahead and post something here and we'll make a lesson plan in order to get you motivated and obtain results - how does this sound to you my friend?

Let's pick your favorite lesson that you have learned in here at GMC - exactly as you are playing it at this moment and we can start from there smile.gif
I think it's a good starting point and it will help me see where you are now so, I'll have a clear idea on what we should tackle to get you blazing wink.gif

Sorry Cosmin, haven't post anything yet,
i might need your help with something if you don't mind, i have been fighting this dreadful lick ._.

the lick is at 100bpm, and it's been 3 days and i can't seem to get pass the 60bpm ....quite frustrating, i must say, i tried some "burst" at higher tempos, but when i go back to 60 :V pretty sloppy, start to wonder if my picking is really that crappy biggrin.gif

i will post a video of me playing it tomorrow!

Uh oh biggrin.gif Sounds like a nasty one indeed. Well, mate you need to have patience, I mean, give yourself more than 3 days smile.gif try and trick your brain into it. Grow 1-2 BPM a day, it'll take more time for certain but the brain won't feel the tempo shifts that bad, thus it won't go into 'Oh my god I can't do this' mode.

Let me know how it goes and show me the vid, I'm curious to see/ listen!

Is there anything else I can assist you with?

Hey Cosmin, sorry i haven't update things, but to be honest i haven't play much guitar, i am having one of those periods when everything seems hard as hell and frustrating.

Regarding your question: Is there anything else I can assist you with? - i don't know man! i truly don't, i pretty much have/want to improve in every area! from funkish; blues; metal; Rock; small phrases; scale runs; vibratos; bending; legato; eco pick alt; chords, phrasing vocabulary; composing (guitar, bass drums) ..........list goes into infinite .. so bring it on!

PS: first run in the video is at 50bpm the 2º is at 60bpm (far from perfect biggrin.gif)

Hey there smile.gif about the takes - there are small coordination issues, but if they will evolve without being taken care of, you'll end up with a problem when alternate picking.

You know, there are times when we feel like putting down the axe because nothing sounds good. I usually go do something inspiring and the urge to pick it up will be there in an instant smile.gif

Check this out:

I've seen this vid today and it made me feel incredibly good! Hope it'll have the same effect on you smile.gif

Regarding the stuff we can do, I suggest we start with rhythm smile.gif a good musician masters rhythm so first things first - which genre would you prefer? Rock/ Metal or Funk? I see these as building blocks, colored and fun to work with smile.gif

Let's rock!

Cosmin

Awesome performance ohmy.gif thanks for sharing the video.

Well i am a huge megeadeth fan, i really dig Mustaine's Thrash Rhythms, but i also would love that rocky/funkys Nuno Bettercourt, but i never reallly "explore" funk..so my basic of funk skill are pretty much nonexistence.

hey Cosmin!; i will try to post a video of me playing some rhythms one week from today!;
meanwhile i want you help with something, if you don't mind. so 1 or 2 months ago, can't remember, i started to write a song , but i never finished because i can't seem to find a good way to go on with the song.

here's the gp file: PS: be sure to have the RSE on to active all the fancy simulations, but in case of missing the plug'ings, you might have to re-adjust volumes.

Hey Renato! The idea is beautiful biggrin.gif I like it very much and I would like to help you out smile.gif

Now, what sort of groove do you have in mind for this? The rhythm is very important as well as the parts succession - I think that if we follow the course you have given it till now, it'll be suitable for a soundtrack more than anything else smile.gif

What do you think?
