> IS THAT YOUR MAMA?

Nope didn't think so either. We all know parents don't get this.

I can show you how to be the virtuoso your folks could only dream about, but I first need your help:

* Pm me and I will show you where to start. I am online every day and I will help you out directly!

* Join my mentoring program. I will customize your learning experience in a way you haven't experienced before. We will have regular contact so that you can remain inspired every day and eventually reach a new level.

* Join my next video chat! GMC startpage holds a video chat schedule. We always cover a lot of ground and have fun. Remember that you don't need any previous knowledge, and you can be passive in the chat.

* Jam with me - you will find active collabs here.

* Post a topic on this board, guitar related or not - doesn't matter! You will find that chatting with instructors boosts your motivation to practice.

* You haven't missed my latest video lessons, have you?

* Oh and did you know that to become a killer guitarist you just need to focus on one thing? Everything
else is secondary. Pm me and I will explain.

Hey Renato, sorry to hear that mate - well, you can be happy that you did everything that was in your power smile.gif You had a lot of good practice and I am sure that the time spent doing that will pay off sooner or later in one way or another - it's always like that mate!

Say, I have an idea - would you like to have a few backup lessons, which deal with finger picking - as I notice that you lose the pick quite often? biggrin.gif Great to hear that you are faring well with the barre - I will keep waiting for the take though!

Cosmin

i usually found them like 1 month later in some random pants sleep.gif. And there isn't any musicstore in my town.which sucks.

I have been working on those

Hi Cosmin it's been a while, how are you doing?

I do need your help, i am kind stuck with phrasing, even with the modes and stuff, i always tend to approach the things about the same way.

It sounds fine the first 2 times the other 40000 just boring haha.

What do you suggest mighty sensei.

(Btw i've been workin in funk stuff, and lessons and stuff, but my speakers kind "BOOOMM"...so i am waiting for a new set b4 doin a rec"

Mate, you are in luck! If you can make it at the video chat session tonight (8 PM London time), we will explore this aspect of creating music out of the things you hear in your head - check out the first video at sec 02:00 and the second video, to see what's what tonight smile.gif

Basically, all you have to do is stop playing the things you know (I am sure that's what's happening smile.gif) and start playing what you hear in your head.

For starters, try the following: grab a backing track and put your guitar aside

Play the track and try to sing what you hear in your head - establish a phrase and then emulate it with your guitar - presto! It most probably won't be something that you did already wink.gif

Deal?

Cosmin

Hey Cosmin! well next time i will have my web and mic avaiable for sure tongue.gif

I think my main problem is that i tend to sing what i already know how to sing, not what i want to sing.

Anywas big news: my speakers are back from the realms of death, so rec takes will start to fly biggrin.gif, and i ve also managed to do the funky chords, still a bit trebly when changin them around, but just one more week or 2 and i should be able to be a step closer on transformin the current me into funkiemaster tongue.gif

PS: well nevermind the mic, just tried to rec something :/ and it sounds like i am underwater can't even hear the backin track, yara yara always some damn problem.

Mate - I am looking forward to hear your REC takes and having you as a guest tomorrow evening at the v-chat - it's going to be one of those sessions where we deal with improvising and spontaneity in any given context smile.gif I will deal with some interesting ear training exercises that involve remembering a scale and singing it against chords until it gets into your system! That is one way towards singing what you don't know biggrin.gif

Io Cosmin.

How do you deal with repetition of ideas when you are composing? i have like this subconscious fear of repeating musical ideas throughout the song.

Anyways i tried to compose a song(Sky Quakes, still workin on it) without the guitar, but with my voice "singing" (everthin expect the acoustic guitar). i couldn't do any fancy stuff like you did on the v-chat, the ideas are in fact pretty simple, here's the gp5 file .

i like the whole idea of video response, nice one dude! Ii've got some ideas from it, i'll try and play with them.

About the singing, it's stil pretty green to me, for instance i can more or less sing phrases and stuff, BUT! i still need to spend a bit tryin to find the notes.

Hehe! Glad to know it's working buddy!

Mate, the more you do it, the better you'll be at it - I would be curious, of course if you agree with it, to see a recorded session in which you depict your ideas in that way and materialized them on the guitar smile.gif What do you say?
