Thanks! I'll try to get those parts tighter before I submit for REC!

I had figured it was more of a classical guitar position! I think I need to look into what I am sitting on, because I don't think the chair I am using now is ideal for guitar practicing.

yes, were you sit is very important mate. There is also something that here is called "banquito" to put your foot. Have you ever seen it?

I know most classical guitar players use them. Probably the perfect thing I'm looking for!

yes, he has many 6 string sweep pickings in the style of Jason Becker and also lots of 8 fingers licks. His technique is killer.

Yeah man, I was amazed at some of his tapping work! Are you familiar with Michael Romeo's playing from Symphony X? His uses 8 finger style a lot of his solos.

P.S. Still working on getting neoclassical etude perfect. The beginning is still giving me a hard time smile.gif

yeah! Michael Romeo is killer. I could see Symphony X live and his performance was fantastic. Chris Broderick also has an amazing 8 fingers tecnique... have you checked him?

I still need to see Symphony X live. They are one of my favorite metal bands.

Yeah, I'm a fan of Chris Broderick's playing! I have checked out some of his demonstrations. Crazy stuff!

You have to go mate! I saw them at a place here called "Teatro Flores", that hall doesn't sound very well so I could hear everything clearly but their performance was killer.

Symphony X is coming to my area Sept. 13. I hope to be able to make it!

I have a foot stool "banquito" now. It is helping me play more comfortable.

I'm working on this lesson right now. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Ostinato-Etude/
I think I'm getting close on a REC take for it.

This sounds great mate. That lesson is so nice and also very helpful for training the right hand. Let me know when the take is ready! smile.gif

I posted the video in REC. Look forward to you comments. I started that lesson this morning and worked on it for about 5 hours today. My left hand is all worn out for the day. smile.gif

I'm probably going to jump into a Marty Friedman lesson next. Of course, if you have something in mind I am open to try something else.

Your REC take is brilliant! I already commented and graded it. smile.gif Your right hand picking is very precise in that one and the timing is very tight. Well done! Let's go for the Marty Friedman lesson which is fantastic.

Thanks Gab! I'm excited to try the Friedman lesson... I was going to try yours but it might be too advanced right now. I'll post my progress hopefully in a week or two. Going to be busy with work so just have to take this one a little slower than usual smile.gif

Ok man, the difficulty behind this one is mostly the expression. It a very expressive solo so the vibrato, bending and groove are the things to concentrate on... keep me updated! wink.gif

Hey man, I have been practicing on this one just about everyday. I have most of the parts down and must say my fingers are getting raw from all the bending (thats exactly what i need though). The only part I'm really struggling with is the second half cause there is no drums it makes it difficult for me to time the licks right. Just thought I give an update of where I'm at... I'm determined to get this one down so I'll keep at it. smile.gif
