I dont have recorded smile.gif
Soon I will give you a 5/8 part which you can check for eventual errors. After that the chorus.
Then the track gets messy wink.gif first we have some soloing, then a kind of riff break, followed by a keyboard solo and ended by the chorus

Messy is not a good option wink.gif biggrin.gif

But first off record, so I can hear the whole vibe and we'll take it from there - deal?

Quick question
I shouldnt throw all I got in there right?

All my ideas in 1 song, and make a 5 minute song.
Better to save some ideas for another song and make a standard 3-4 minute song right?

Mate smile.gif It's like going to a war with atomic bombs against swords smile.gif

Why do you always think in terms of techniques when writing a song? What's the story of the song and what are you trying to say with it? Let's start from here wink.gif

There is always a story behind the songs wink.gif
Maybe I sound like a hippie or something but I think its very connected to your feelings the music you compose.

Anyway, this song will be put on the idea board for a while.
I came up with a killer riff hehe, atleast sounds so to me.

Just need the right drums for it. I should start writing but Im bad at that.
I think my friend will show me a few tricks and I will present to you the idea wink.gif

Sent you a PM Cosmin wink.gif
1 File is Waw I think so u have to download it (my browser wont play Waw files)

And I add a note:
The drums would be important for this riff too, If I could add some cool grooves to it would lift it up aswell
Think I have to start writing my own drums

Hey buddy!

The riffage is awesome!! Indeed you should start working on the drums - but we had this talk a long time ago tongue.gif Thought you already did - now, I have a question - why would you want to push it to 160 when it sounds so good at 80 BPM? smile.gif

Hey
I kind of settled for 150 bpm now and made some changes.
It can sound powerful for sure in lower tempo.

But I want it faster, mostly cause the arpeggios in it will sound much cooler then I think
And also its not going to be such a heavy song, more like a fusion song with a modern touch, some piano and stuff will be there aswell

Mate - if you used software speed enhancing to get it from 70 to 80 than it means you have a lot to go from there to 150... I would not sacrifice the riff for the sake of speed to be honest. If it was up to me - I'd work my way to 80, maybe 90 and come up with a structure and some nice orchestrations in the manner you mentioned. What do you think? smile.gif

Nope I can play it now at 150 smile.gif
The reason I did it in such a slow speed was to try to give you better understandment of the riff, and the slower the cleaner it will sound when speeded up.

At that time I was at 130 Bpm.
I still need a few days pratice to play it cleanly at top speed 150 bpm

Ooooh smile.gif I understand now wink.gif Well, I'd be curious to hear it at the top speed you can play it now, but keeping in mind that it has to be clean and in good timing and articulation biggrin.gif

Hey Cosmin
here is the verse
And I was thinking this need some chords outside of key to make it sing wink.gif

What do you suggest? Right now its Ebm7, Abm7, Bmaj7
Could with fit in a chord after the Bmaj?

What chord would that be?
And are there any specific rules about this?

"Dont make anything advanced just beacuse you want to make it advanced"

You are right about that Cosmin, and I have fallen into that trap sometimes.
But that is not the case here wink.gif

I want this kind of sound, this kind of outness.
I attach to you a soundfile, back when I played around with these things.
Its straight C major, but I try to put in some stuff from the C minor scale there as well.

Well I have no idea what im doing, thats why I ask you about this, but I want this sound

This is done without chords, but dont you think, at in the parts where I put this outnotes
ESPECIALLY the ending lick would sound great?

Hey mate, hope I got close enough with my thoughts:

The idea here is to use a chord progression that combines two keys for instance and see what notes create a smooth passage between those keys, making things sound out but not quite wink.gif You can try the concepts in this lesson on a progression such as the one I suggested:

Thanks Cosmin I will do some thinking about this smile.gif
Now, this might be much to ask.

But could your provide me with correct fingering for the arpeggios in Muris Extreme neoclassical?
I guess I have to roll my finger, even backwards (how that now is possible) in a video perhaps?

And YES im serious about this haha!

Ive been at a teatcher that has helped me in my technique and given me exercises to help me in my playing
I will include this piece in my praticing

Hey mate smile.gif I will make a vid for ya - now, my technique is not that proficient in this area, simply because I don't use it, or at least I haven't used it in a very long time. But I will tell you what I know that you have to keep in mind in respect to this style of playing. Stay tuned smile.gif

Here ya go:

Hey Cosmin
I will have a theoretical drum lesson with a friend

Now I was thinking of recording riffs to a metronome in different time signatures and then write drums to these riffs as lesson pratice.
How do you do that?

Best thing is to start with a metronome click sound right and record it to that.
Then I just try different grooves, but how would you do

how do you know in what time signature you wrote the riff, i only try to see what suite me best
I want to improve this
