This handy device can be used as a pre-amp or as an insert if your recording interface supports that. It's a handy looking piece of kit and I"m thinking about getting one. Some folks use it on the master bus as an insert, or before guitars/vocal mics in the recording chain. Looks spiff and retro smile.gif

I am pretty certain some of the guys at www.diystompboxes.com make them. Check that place out. I lurk there all the time. I have never used one, though, and I cannot vouch for the tone they produce.
