Hi Michael Walker!! Welcome to your thread for the Gab's Army!

Could you please tell me a bit about you, your musical tastes, influences, strengths and weaknesses? I would need some videos of you playing rhythm and solo guitar, so please post your best material here. If you have some music or ideas of your own, also post them here. Also let me know how you think that I can help you and what are your expectations for our job. You can check the other Army's thread to discover the different modalities of this project.

The principles of our Army are:

+ Improve your technique
+ Make music and solos
+ Have fun
+ Destroy the enemy (hahaha not realy just kidding... )

Well I'm a beginner, I never played a full song yet..however can do like Scorpions Rhythm, AC/DC, my music is the 60's, Monkees, I'm not your steppin stone, and 80's style guitar..

I need some direction, mainly concentrating on playing something thru the end, that's fairly simple to improve my skills and timing. I seem to be all over the place, trying to learn this and that and then trying to learn songs that are simple to play, thus this site came into being and I am learning alot.

I can play finger wise, but memory wise seems to suffer..cause im all over he place..

Great! Thanks for the description. Welcome to this musical trip mate! smile.gif In this thread I will give you assigments for every week. You should record yourseld doing the lessons or exercises to let me help you and give you some feedback. I would need a video of you playing something to know exactly your level, but I assume that you don't have one yet. One question... Have you ever played open chords?

My idea is to start with this lesson: Lesson 1: Open Chords

Check it out and let me know if you think that you can work on it.

Great! So you can choose between that lesson or this one and record a video playing it.

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-gu...ds-rock-rhythm/

It doesn't matter if you don't play it perfectly, it's just to see you playing something. wink.gif

Awesome, what do you recommend using to record the video? I have a program from sErif called Movie plus and it records me just fine but only with my webcam mic, it sees my digitech RP355 Pedal and I switch to that, but no sound is recorded, thought you might know, if not I emailed the company today..otherwise what do you recommend that I use?

Well done man! Good playing. It's normal to feel a bit nervous in your first recording. This disappears with some practice! wink.gif

I think that we could go for this lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-gu...ds-rock-rhythm/

However it would be great if you can use the backing and film yourself playing the lesson over the backing track... do you think that this is possible?

Gab.-

LOL, Yeh I got so excited I forgot the backing track, figured that out last night..my wife and i were laughing ove that one..Stupid me..lol yes will do..
can you tell me what you use to do that yourself?, my Program does import the backing track, just trying to figure out how to combine it with teh video..my Fender GDEC3 will play the backing track, so I might have to use that while I do the video, so if the other fails will try that to see if I can get teh backing track also with my Video..but if you can tell me what you use or people use to do it, let me know..

When I'm filming I use a Daw (like Nuendo or Reaper) that reproduces the backing and records the guitar. Then I use Sony Vegas to replace camera audio and put a mix that I export from the daw. That's the best way to do it.

ok pretty much the same idea, you have 2 separate things and you have to place them together?? I imported the Backing track then what i should do is replace the camera audio then same way..

Thanks, can you check to make sure the board is sending me email notification that you responded to my thread? I am not getting notifications..I checked my spam filter also did not find..

Gab,

Hey those licks don't play on my GP 6 cause I think they are not set to anything like a Guitar just says Pista 1 etc.. is there a way to change them to an instrument, this way I can hear the link inside of GP6..

Thanks
