Cool!! I have to work on something in the style of Edguy. I'm not very sure if I should add Grave Digger to the series... do you think that they have some unique guitar style?

Hi,

indeed Blind Guardian IS above all biggrin.gif After that I can pretty much join the opinion of my fellow countryman Gitarrero.
I would like to add Human Fortress to it. I always liked the Voice on the third Album "Eternal Empire", which is the reason that after the vocalist quit HF he is now singing in my Band biggrin.gif. Orden Ogan are quite nice too. We played with them once.

cheers,

S.

As a german, I love the genre! German kids get to hear power metal in Kindergarten already, so it's really the only music every german loves!

Okay...I was kidding.

The sad reality is that Lady Gaga, Rihanna and all these...you know...dominate the billboard charts in Germany as well. Blind Guardian is somewhat huge and their album will usually make it to the top ten, maybe even the top spot in the album charts. The albums of the other mentioned bands will also climb pretty high in the charts, maybe not top 10 everytime, but top 20 is realistic.
They usually play in venues for 1000 - 3000 people.

It's the same here but there is no possibility for a power metal band to reach a chart... unless it's a metal one at an under radio.

Blind Guardian is indeed NOT Above all!!!

First indeed is Running Wild (it's crazy that nobody mentioned these guys)
Then Grave Digger (offcourse they have unique style, check their self/ titled album, knights of the cross, etc.)
Forgiven but not forgotten Helloween,
und Gamma Ray
Heaven's Gate
Sinner
Stormwich

And you should also check German THrash bands, as Todd Mentioned Kreator, i would add Sodom und Dstruction, Mekong Delta, etc...
