Yup ! That video was awesome. Now I just have to practice it for 20 hours and then I should have it smile.gif
In the meantime while I am practicing legato could we work on alternate picking ?

Off course! Do you have any audio of you playing something with Alternate Picking Technique?

No , but I can record something. Would you like it to be on 1 string or multiple strings ?

I was thinking i might just run through a scales pattern ( I think I will use the G phyrgian mode as I am trying to memorize it ), and just play each note 3 times so I would be picking 9 times per string. I guess you call that triplets don't you ?

If you play 3 notes per beat, you are playing triplets. Ok, that's a good idea, please record yourself playing that and post it here.

Hi Jesse! I checked your take and it seems that sometimes you have some synchronization problems, so we have to start at slower tempos.

What about working on these lessons?

Okay I started the first Alternate picking lesson today. ( the one by Ben ) And I am still practicing the legato lesson. I think I will try to upload and audio sample of me playing the legato lesson just so you can know where I am at. I still have a ways to go though.

Okay here it is. It still needs a lot of work as you will shortly be able to tell, and I messed up at the end but it was getting late and my string broke so after about 45min of practice/recording I went with my best take yet.

It's sounding good mate, but I would practice this one at a slower tempo, trying to make the connection between different strings smoother and at tempo... try to avoid that silence between the string changes.

Thanks for the tip ! And the positive feedback smile.gif I know this might sound weird but it doesn't take much for me to get discouraged when practicing and an encouraging word always is nice to hear ! I realize there are errors in my playing and they need to be pointed out so I can become a better player. But if a student always get negative feedback it does alot of damage ( I know this from my personal experience teaching swimming lessons at the pool where I work ) But you pointed out exactly what my weakest point is. Transitioning from one part to the next ! I will keep practicing this lesson and put another take up next week so you can hear my progress. The AP lesson is going good I will try to put a take up in a few days.

Thanks for your words mate. I'm glad to read this because the main goals of my army are feeling motivated and making music. If we achieve it, I'm proud and happy. smile.gif

Great job mate! You are so close on this one!! Keep on practicing to adjust a bit the faster figures only to get a top level take. This would be a 9 at the REC for me. Well done! smile.gif
