Hey Cosmin!

Love this lesson, a lot of expression and it's also challenging.

I got sick yesterday so I'll be practicing a bit less until I get better. Will still do as much as I feel I can smile.gif

Thanks!

Uh oh... take care mate, I hope you get well soon!

The lesson is almost there! Please try to play along with my recording, to see the interpretation details and also, focus on the bends, as there are a few which are a bit under the pitch wink.gif

Otherwise, you are moving like the wind! Good work mate!!

Hey Cosmin!

I am recovering... thank you.

Haven't played last few days at all, but I did play the lesson tonight and recorded it again.
You're doing a vibrato on the 2nd string 15th fret bend which I can't do with my second finger as you do. Still working on it.

Hey Amitai, glad to hear you are feeling better smile.gif Guess the odds have evened out and now my throat is killing me a bit, if I can say it like that..

Anyway, I will point out two important things wink.gif

- I want your tone to sound bigger and spacier smile.gif Maybe a little delay and a bit more gain for the spaciness. Right now, it's nice but a bit too intimate for what my intention with this piece really was smile.gif
- Pay a bit more attention to the bends - there are a few who aren't that precise wink.gif

Cosmin

Hey Cosmin!

Sorry it took me a while to respond, I went to see my father for a few days.
How are you?

I'll record a new take, and I'll try to take care of the bends and tone.

Thanks smile.gif

Hey Cosmin!

Glad to hear you're feeling better.
I'm feeling good, still coughing but the throat is much better and my temp is okay.

Here's the take.

Hey amigo smile.gif

There are still some bends and notes which are not 100% there and there was a note which was a bit shorter than the one in the original somewhere around 0:54. I'd suggest you to play/record against the original so that you may get the feeling better. It usually helps a lot. For instance I did this when learning Pantera tunes and it really got me into the whole Dimebag groove and flow much better than if I wouldn't ve done it wink.gif Deal?

Hey Cosmin!

Sorry for not being active, a lot of things going on.
I will try to get it done in the next couple of days.
By the way, is the tone alright? I did add some gain and delay.

Thanks!

Hey man, no worries, life is happening biggrin.gif Sometimes we want to play the guitar but it won't let us... laugh.gif

Anyway, I still think that the tone is too mild, it needs to be a bit more aggressive but not too much, add a little bit more gain and use your hands and ears otherwise biggrin.gif You know that old saying, the tone is in the hands and I would add ears as well! Try to imitate my intention when playing!

Gradually coming back to life smile.gif

I hope I got it right.

Thanks!

And I began working on Slash's Anastasia Intro. A tricky one!

Hey Amitai! Glad to hear you are recovering, mate! smile.gif I sang last evening without warming up and my voice still sounds a little raspy from that coughing I had to deal with a few weeks ago. Took advantage and sang some Alice in Chains and Chris Cornell tunes biggrin.gif

Now, I like your approach on the Voice II - I'd be curious to see a video and take it to the REC smile.gif Towards the end you rushed the phrases a bit, but it's not bad, it's a different approach.

Slash's intro - well, you are not yet fully comfy with it and if i were to place a metronome click behind it, it would sound like you are playing it with a swing feel biggrin.gif Which is interesting but not what you aimed for, right? Please record it against a click smile.gif Deal?

Hey Cosmin!

I can still feel my throat and have headaches so I get you. My singing range is still affected. But it seems you took the hoarseness to a good place! tongue.gif

The REC take is here.

And I get what you mean. I think it's because I still had trouble with the shapes so I had trouble keeping the rhythm stable.
I did record it over a click, but I don't know how to export the click when I export the audio bit on Cubase.
I will record it again, maybe over a backing track if I can find one, when I'll be back home (Saturday).

Trying to make the best of it mate biggrin.gif We have a friend who owns a very nice teahouse which is dedicated to photography. He is also a player and has a wide range of very expensive guitars and he will play alongside a part of my bandmates and some other guys in other bands in an all acoustic evening in his teahouse. Awesome experience which I can't wait for biggrin.gif

Here ya go - a backing for you wink.gif Looking forward to hear the theme over it! biggrin.gif

Hey Cosmin!

Here's the Anastasia intro. The backing track is in the original tempo so I struggled with it.
https://soundcloud.com/amitaik/anastasia-2

Also got my old amp fixed and set up last week. It sound amazing now and I'm so happy.
All the knobs were broken or not functioning well, the net was torn, it needed the attention tongue.gif

The amp is 15 years old and I got it from a friend of my dad that was a successful musician in the 90's, so it was on the road a lot smile.gif.

Dude! Is that an AVT 50 from Marshall? biggrin.gif I got the same amp between 2002 and 2012 and sold it afterwards smile.gif Anastasia sounds better, a lot better like that - it could be a bit smoother but it's in good timing. There's a lot of Bach behind this theme, can you feel it? biggrin.gif

Hey Cosmin!

Good Morning!

After Todd's video chat on Saturday, in which we played some diminished licks,
I started working on Ben's lesson "Diminished Responsibility".

You're always a welcome guest, Ben! biggrin.gif And guess what - I also think this about Amitai's progress biggrin.gif He's a continuous force!

Amitai - I like the recording, but I think it can be a little bit cleaner in playing smile.gif Nothing much to add here really, aside the fact that I also like Bach and I will (hopefully enough) learn the whole Cello Suite and post a video smile.gif
