Hey Yash, just checked out the vid smile.gif you are almost there man! the idea is to try and work on the lesson at a slower tempo where you can get al the chord shift in good timing and then raise the tempo until you will get to the original one. There are a few shifts which have bad timing, but with a bit more practice, you'll get this one perfectly wink.gif

About the C notes biggrin.gif hehe, well, you are a tough little guitarist right? Don't run away from playing the C notes wink.gif

Hmm, OK. Thanks for the comments man.
At a speed of 70 bpm and hitting a different C note every time is tough.
But I'll try my best

Problem Spotted - I am unable to use my pinky effectively on the lower strings (E & A mostly).
How do I overcome it.
The notes don't ring out well.

Hey Yash smile.gif well, lower the tempo and focus on applying enough pressure on the strings using the pinkie - also, take care on pressing in the middle of the space between the frets so that the note will sound as full as possible. It's all about patience and taking things slow mate wink.gif

I will certainly help you, but it's a bit too early to start thinking about this matter smile.gif chord shifting first and then singing while chord shifting biggrin.gif challenging enough? tongue.gif

Good Mornin Cosmin

Playing a different C note per beat still seems tough. I need to literally dance all over the fingerboard. smile.gif laugh.gif
Can I do some patterns to get a little breathing time in between. smile.gif

And Can I get something easier with Sweep picking, if possible.

Hey Yash! Well, the dancing occurs only when the tempo is to high wink.gif lower it accordingly until you are relaxed and comfortable with playing the C notes. You already have a pattern based exercise in the AP oriented task wink.gif this one has its purpose, so treat it accordingly biggrin.gif

(Yes, yes, I can see you starting to hate me already laugh.gif )

Regarding the sweep picking.... hmmm... try this one for size:

e----------4--1-----------
B-------3--------2---------
G----2-------------3-------
D--1-----------------4----
A--------------------------
E--------------------------

I advise starting at a tempo of 70BPM - play one note per beat, while having the metronome set to quarter notes. Watch out for perfectly syncing your right and left hands, ok? let me know how it goes and you can increase 5 units each time you are able to repeat the exercise 4 times in a row WITHOUT ANY MISTAKE wink.gif

I dance even when tempo is low, like at 70 bpm tongue.gif
I think I should start at 40 BPM huh.gif

And why would I hate you laugh.gif What a joke. You and Gab and Ben and Alex and Dark Dude and Slavenko are my best friends these days since April. OK not Ben, Dark Dude and Slavenko coz I met them later. biggrin.gif You are like a big brother I always wanted to have Cosmin smile.gif Because I don't have any sad.gif And the older cousin I have is, well, how do I put it huh.gif not too inspiring. All my other cousins in my family are younger than me.

And that exercise, I am already doing at 110 or 120 bpm quarter notes, if I remember right, it was somewhere near that mark.

And I am also done with Alternate picking, I'll record and upload tomorrow.
I am 80% done with pull offs, just that part where I have to jump to the 12th fret gets me. I am working on it. smile.gif Any tips for this jump bro ? smile.gif

And still working on my favorite lesson smile.gif You know the one tongue.gif

Hey Yash! Looking forward to see your takes wink.gif Regarding the jump - record it as you are playing it at this level and we'll look over the matter. But I am sure it's just a matter of slowing down, gaining confidence and then speeding up wink.gif

Sorry Cosmin, for the lack of posts and not uploading the vids. sad.gif

I've been having a lot of trouble with internet, ESPECIALLY youtube, videos won't load and it hasnt been allowing me to upload.

I'lll upload as soon as I can.

One vid (Alternate Picking) is on its way, if there's no power failure or internet failure. smile.gif tongue.gif

And I forgot, the deadline's 17th. But I won't be able to perfect pull-off by then sad.gif Neither Chord Shifting sad.gif

But surprisingly, I am spotting notes faster, while playing scales. smile.gif Thanks Cosmin biggrin.gif

Hey Yash! Glad to hear that you're on your way with some materials and that you're better at spotting notes! That's a very important skill you know - listen mate, the takes don't have to be perfect, but it's important for you to go through them and try to get the best out of each one till the deadline so we can comment and discuss around them!

Let me know when you are ready, k?

Howdy Yash! Good afternoon to you my friend smile.gif

I like the vid - great quality and your right hand seems to move in a very nice way - wrist wise wink.gif you have a strong and determined attack, which is wonderful!

Here's what I can spot:

1) The volume of the backing track is a bit low
2) You are rushing when playing the triplets and thus losing the tempo and groove and you go out of sync with the track.

would you be into recording a video where you would use the track provided at the slowest tempo available - since you are recording just by using the sound from the video cam, that is possible.

let me know on your thoughts bro

Cosmin

Good Afternoon Bro. smile.gif I was going to re-record it anyway, dry.gif I forgot the note progression and then started rushing to keep time. sad.gif Those triplets confuse me blink.gif I'll keep those tips and have the back track higher. biggrin.gif

And do I really need to play at the slowest tempo ????? unsure.gif
