Greetings brave carriers of the guitar ! This time we're looking at classical vibrato.. that weird side to side thing that you sometimes see people do wink.gif

If you remember that link I gave you before to those videos I made, you'll find the second video talks about this type of vibrato biggrin.gif

If you get through this intact then I'll be giving you something a little trickier....

Deadline is next Saturday 19th May

Greetings to my apprentice friends ! smile.gif

I trust you are all in good spirits... I'm just taking another leisurely stroll around the Temple to check that everybody is at one with their weapons smile.gif

Hey Ben,

Saw your call on this thread and since I have done the warrior task, I thought why not try it. I am guessing this would be our next task. biggrin.gif

And since no one has posted yet, I thought I would do it. The vibrato wasn't coming at first but I know the drill now. You have to push the string with all the fingers and thats why I think you are not using the index finger but the middle finger. smile.gif Beware with vibrato with middle finger.. lol lol

Anyway, here is my try. This is an hour of effort. smile.gif

Thanks,
Chandra

Chandra, what can I say apart from 'That is perfect !!!' biggrin.gif Really, it is !

And it's true.. you have to push into the fretboard with at least more than 1 finger to really get the full effect of the vibrato smile.gif More pressure is the secret wink.gif

As tempting as it is to give you another Donut, I think this is a good opportunity to update the Donut thread and put in a rule that says you can only get 1 Donut per week. I should have thought of that already but thank you for indirectly giving me a reminder smile.gif

Here I am again on this great Odyssey adventure. Yeah loved this one. Ben I stoked I'm on the mountain. I would have never really jumped into these on my own so thank you.
Bit time poor at the moment so this is far from perfect but it's got my feet wet.
I appreciate Grind's effort on these lesson but he still doesn't have any donuts ha! biggrin.gif Lucky for me though that Sensie Ben say's no to Chandra who's trying to be greedy and steel extra. smile.gif

Cheers

Thanks for the take Zoom, you earn yourself a Donut ! smile.gif Really happy you're getting a lot out of the Bushido process ! It's not for everybody and there's many bodies of people who have fallen along the way.... ph34r.gif

Regards the speed of vibrato, you could actually do with introducing some which are even faster than that. You've got a good, medium speed vibrato happening which suits the piece very well but you can hear in the original lesson that there's ones which are even quicker so no, they're not too fast smile.gif

Hey Ben,
I'm still late... smile.gif
Here is my take. I still need to work on it, as my vibratos seem too light sometimes. But I'm learning and loving it.

Zoom, well done. Do you know I'm starving because of you ? biggrin.gif

Sexy take, Grind !

Although it's quite light, sometimes this is all you need. I can hear the undulating effect of the vibrato and it's great. You've all really got the grasp of this technique which is great because it's not well used in guitar playing that much smile.gif

Having trouble with the video tonight, so audio only.
This was much easier on the fingers (compared to task 15), but it seems it'll take a while to make it smooth and effective.
It's definitely a good vibrato style to know.

Cool take Moss, I can hear it forming already. Yeah, this technique does take a while to sculpt.. but it's encouraging when you can hear the wibble wobble of the strings. Sooner or later, you'll be able to control the tempo of the vibrato a bit more and keep it going a bit longer too smile.gif
