One thing though, in the introductory section of the 2nd video you suggested, Muris talks about learning the notes of each scale used to be able to transition smoothly. My question is, how do I actually learn where each scale starts and ends? I'm no theory expert and I really barely know the notes of a guitar. Feb 27 2013, 08:44 AM	Instructor Posts: 22.808 Joined: 14-June 10 From: Bucharest	Hey Trey, It is indeed an important thing to be able to see the notes making up a scale on the neck and get to make up arpeggios, scale sequences or use intervals at command, so for this, I recommend the following Each of those scales is based on the harmonic minor formula -> 1 2 b3 4 5 b6 7 8 - you can apply this from all the root notes and obtain all the harmonic minor scales used in the lesson. Try to do this and listen to the scale go up and down covering 2 octaves let's say. After that, try to ascend and descend using intervals and various groups of notes (8ths, triplets, 16th notes, groups of 5, of 7 notes etc.) Once you have done that, you will have a pretty good view of your 'map' so to say and then the paths chosen by Muris on your 'map' won't seem so foggy What say you? Cosmin Sounds like something that will take a while. I'll probably go through and do the actual lesson and then go back and actually try to learn more about it.
