This is actually very relevant to GUITAR! Training your "Nueral Zombie" as it were, it key to getting to that point where music just sort of happens when you are holding an instrument. Much like language, once you reach a certain point, you don't really have to think about the words themselves and can focus on the meaning you are trying to create. It's IMHO the same with guitar or any instrument for that matter. At a certain point after much practice, you stop thinking in terms of scales, notes, etc. Instead your brain is focused on communicating musical ideas and being expressive. Once you reach that point, you are no longer making technical decisions, just creative ones.
