Hi mate, yeah, this is normal, it happens with practicing and it can also happens with a musical project or band that doesn't work as you want. The secret here is knowing which things can keep you motivated, and Videos/Documentaries are some of the most motivational things for musicians. Knowing and seeing other musicians experiences can make us feel less isolated and alone in this journey based in our dreams. Don't worry about this,, just remember why you started and start feeling that first sensation again.

Yep - very often for me. I've learned to overcome it using the discipline route. The hardest part of overcoming a lack of desire for doing something, is to "just do it". Sounds cliche', but I find that if I have no interest in playing any given day, I'll reach down and pick up my guitar and start playing just to spite myself, and all of a sudden, within ten minutes I'm having fun.
A few other things that inspire me to play that might apply to you? listening to music before practicing sparks the old creative monster within, and once I pick up my guitar, a good routine to get into is to throw on a jam-track and play along with it a bit. Those two things are effective for me ~ try them and let us know if they are effective for you. Not every session has to involve scales! -------------------- The more I practice, the more I wish I had time to practice!
