> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Little Finger Work-out by Dejan Farkas

First attempt to upload video.

“The level of achievement that we have at anything, is a reflection, of how well, we were able to focus on it. Because the only thing that’s holding you back, is the way you’re thinking.”

Hello my friend, good to see you doing a REC take ! smile.gif

For me, it was somewhere between a 7 or an 8.. I wish I could give 7.5 !

Some of it was really, really good and some of it was a little out of synch. I can tell you where the main area of focus needs to be though and that is mainly the little finger (as you already know, that's why you're doing this the lesson !?) wink.gif So, it's not much that you need to focus on, which is a good thing.

What happens is that the little finger doesn't have much control so it hammers back down onto the string a bit too early. When you use your little finger more, it will get stronger. The stronger it becomes, the easier it will be for to control when it hammers on and pulls off. You're doing a good job, just keep going with it and you'll pass this !

Hi man! This is the best of the three rec takes that you uploaded today! That's because this one is closer to your level. The only thing that needs to be improved on this one is the synchronicity between both hands. Continue practicing it, starting at slower tempos, concentrating on that. wink.gif

Good take! Your timing and hands synchronization is a little off! Some parts were perfect and some were a little shaky! Just spend some more time practicing this lesson and it will sound great very fast!

Hey mate! The same idea goes from me - slow and accurate practice will lead to fast and accurate performance. As long as you keep in mind that there's no competition, you will enjoy the process of learning and take your time to submit the best you got wink.gif I'm sure you can do a lot better!
