So after reading the Selling Stuff post, it really does bring a tear to sell somethings. I have an old Washburn MG-34, its missing pickups and everything, can't get rid of it for anything. You'd have to steal it for me to lose it, I got it when I was younger.

But then you have the post with Ben and the Goth V, something you've held onto because of what it was.

Then you have the you can get great equipment cheaper by spending time looking for it regardless of new or used.

With that being said. I got up checked GMC and GuitarCenter like always. GuitarCenter was like "Just Arrived" PRS CE24 Turquoise. So I cleaned up my Gibson Les Paul which I rarely ever play, because it never stays in tune and it is just incredibly heavy to me since I picked up my Ibanez S770. So I took my 2 hour trip and came home with a beauty. Which its Abalone not Turquoise, great for me because I've always loved this color. Well everything went well, thanks to having an older Les Paul an 08 Studio, Alpine White, Chrome Hardware, was told its rare they get them so.. I did it and traded it in for the PRS CE24, paid like $550 after taxes in cash with trade. I've been playing almost all day since then minus a break for food.

Next up learn to save for a new car, mines getting pretty old.

Awesome! I am most definitely saving up for a PRS after I get my Godin!

Beautiful Guitar Man! Sounds like you got a good deal on it as well! I would love to try a PRS someday, sadly nobody in my area sells them. How is the weight of the PRS compared to the Gibson LP?

Just noticed the comment about the car, Glad you got your priorities right, Guitar first, car second! biggrin.gif

Thanks man! I'm so lucky to have gotten this color only thing better would have been the purple from back then.

From what I hear they don't even make the CE series anymore and the 24 fret ones are even more rare to find. Back in the day they were around $2000 if not more, being used it was $1200, and I didn't pay but $550 after trade. Yeah I could have waiting and tried to find some one to sell the LP to but, it was easier to just walk in trade it up and get 10% off on top of trade. I'm very happy I browse online at used gear all the time. It's just really hard to pass up some prices.

As for weights, I'm told a Les Paul can weigh from 7-11lbs. I went in and weight my other guitars to help put a perspective on weight. Odd they are all 2lbs off each other. Sitting down playing you can't really feel the weight much, but standing you can.

Ibanez S : 07lbs
PRS : 09lbs
Explorer : 11lbs

@Nihilist1 - My GuitarCenter, had a ton of them used. It almost looked like someone had to sell guitars for money I bet there was around 8 of them all different colors all custom.

Nice! Is that a ROCKTRON hush pedal behind it? A good call there as well. Also, your mic choice is quite spiff. The 57 matched with the flat face makes a great combo. Not to mention the half stack. In short, a really fine rig with a really fine guitar. Spiff!

Yes sir, it sure is a hush pedal, picked it up for around 30 bucks too. Yeah I also really like the 57/e609 combo I have going on, really gives me options as well with tone. Also the cab has GT12T-75 and V30s in it so I have a blend of sound as well.

The action is a little bit higher than I am use to having with all my shredder guitars, but it makes up in tone and sustain.

Edit:

When I get around to it, I may actually re-track a song I've been working on with it. Just need to get my friend over to lay down a track as well.
