Record and upload a version of this lesson !!

We are changing gears to a slower pace now.. time to get all emotional and ballad-y smile.gif

There's some sophisticated phrases in this lesson from The Godfather, Sinisa (he's an old romantic, really...) and they should ask quite a lot of your bending and phrasing ability.

But.. and this is a big, fat American sized Butt... I think you guys can do it ! No, scrap that.. I know you guys can do it ! biggrin.gif

You have until next Friday 29th June before I start pulling fingernails...

That's a nice melody. I'm working on it right now. I may not post anything for a week, but I can assure you I'll be working in the temple smile.gif

Wow Grind great take! Your timings great nice tone also.

Hi Mr Ben - I've worked a bit on this as I knew it was pretty challenging to nail. Timing is a big issue for me I noted it from last weeks task and this week. I found it really hard to nail the run up the top E string to the bend just hearing where to come in and even playing. Bends are still not 100% but my fingers are so sore. My musicman has 9's on them but I broke my top E string so I'm playing on my strat with 10's .
Ok enough said Loved playing this piece also.
Just one question also with my timing I'm thinking I get ahead of the beat which I've heard is harder to fix than lagging any thoughts?

Well done, Zoom.. knew you could do it ! smile.gif

I didn't think it was in front of the beat too much.. maybe only a tiny couple of places but overall you were quite solid with the timing.

I always say that to combat the rushing, first deliberately play behind the beat. Get to know how that feels. From there, just keep pushing slightly forward until you're right on the beat. I think it's easier to correct when you're lagging because you can hear where you should be and you can catch up. But when you're too far in front you can't go backwards so it's hard to correct because you've gone over. It's quite hard to describe, not sure if I've done a good job or not but hopefully you get what I mean. If you get to know the two extremes of behind or in front, then you're in a better position to find the middle ground smile.gif

First off, Congrats! on the Reckoning release and 30 Shredders video.
That's some serious Rockin' happening there. Oh Yes, Moss Likes!

Task wise:
The most difficult part for me was that little fast part right after that second bend to the high B.
Other problems that would show up on any given Take was bending precision and timing to some of the phrases.

Hopefully next time I'll have the camera focused properly. rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the kind words, Moss smile.gif

Onto your take - Excellentay ! biggrin.gif

I see an awesome vibrato there.. been working on that haven't you ?

Bends are also strong here.. pretty much everything is sounding good. One thing that'll make your slides sound better is to prevent the premature finger movement. For example, on that sliding sequence at the end.. you pick the note first, and then slide up to it with the index finger. The index finger is sliding up just a bit too early, leave it as long as you can and make the slide nice and quick so it doesn't sound like 2 separate notes where you start the slide and then hit the end of the slide, if you get me ?

That's all... very, very good stuff !! biggrin.gif

Ah yes, I see now. Mucho Thanks!

Yeah, I was confused on how Sinisa was doing it.
I was pulling off that first note really quick.

Now it sounds much smoother.
