thank you sir!
any appearance of things looking easy is a full on illusion smile.gif
Im currently racking up between 1 / 1.5 hours per day on bootcamp picking patterns. Ive found 45 mins in the morning and the same again at night are working quite well. There is a level of almost meditation you can hit when playing these patterns over and over with a metronome cool.gif

BINGO!!!! That "Meditation" quality is precisely the thing I"m hoping for you to get to on something like this. That state of tranquility where the pattern locks in and your fingers (almost) move by themselves.

It's very similar to monks chanting "ooohhhmmm" repeatedly. The brainwaves actually change at some point and you are able to focus in a new way. This is the point where some of your best learning and memory can happen. Well done!!

That's the spirit Soldier!!! There are not that many folks who can claim a Double Chevron Mission Badge! I can count them on one hand! It's quite an achievement as I don't just pass folks on missions for the fun of it!! As you've seen I run them through the gauntlet. So just like playing guitar, folks gotta earn it and you are doing just that!!!!!

NICE!!!! Soldier, you have come a LONG way!!! Your right hand technique is spot on and you're right/left hand synch is tight!!

This almost looks too easy Soldier!!! Give me a bit more using your DOUBLE PICKING and if you are feeling gamey maybe triple or quad picking? Keep a good palm mute!!

Reporting back from special ops! Lesson 11 doubles n quads.

this one is tough smile.gif because I cant (yet) pick at warp speeds it takes a fair amount of to get this pattern from the 3rd fret to the 12th! that's a lot of time to keep focused on not screwing up! cool.gif

Soldier!! YOU ARE EARNING IT!!!

Good to see smile.gif

MEDAL OF HONOR

1.)Double Picking From HELL!!!!
2.)Nice Precision!
3.)Pinky Included!!

This is NOT an easy bit to play as DOUBLES. You played it well and it's very evenly and precisely picked which is what I like to see!! You don't rush, you don't lag, you are spot on the beat. This is a big part of my "play like a robot in order to learn to Shred like a God". Being able to play on the beat is the first step in being able to play "around" the beat.

In short, Soldier, you just......

....dramatic pause....

!!!!!!! LEVELED UP!!!!!!!

Indeed, this one should have been taken care of by now smile.gif
locked and loaded, although it is proving a little awkward to kill. Probably got a couple of weeks to get it properly. Its deceptive and Im still not certain which fingers I want to use rolleyes.gif my index and ring fingers seem to randomly interchange on this pattern everytime I play it!

That's entirely to be expected soldier!! Your fingers are fighting for dominance over each other. They are working out how they want to brawl!!

well well smile.gif after being lost in the wilderness for a while, I seem to have found my way back home and on the path to righteous shred cool.gif sorry for being MIA sarge.
TBH I lost a bit of confidence and drive in my alt picking of late. After about a full year of making it my main focus and assigning the bulk of my practice time to increasing speed. I felt my progress was not very impressive. I have 2 picking lessons Ive been working on for well over a year now and I use these two lessons as a benchmark test to see how my picking is faring but I couldnt see much improvement with those........ It was a bit of a downer huh.gif I eased back off the picking routines for a bit but the last couple of months Ive been ramping them up again cool.gif
Ive got an attempt of the demon that is lesson 12 with single and double strikes -
