> IS THAT YOUR MAMA?

Nope didn't think so either. We all know parents don't get this.

I can show you how to be the virtuoso your folks could only dream about, but I first need your help:

* Pm me and I will show you where to start. I am online every day and I will help you out directly!

* Join my mentoring program. I will customize your learning experience in a way you haven't experienced before. We will have regular contact so that you can remain inspired every day and eventually reach a new level.

* Join my next video chat! GMC startpage holds a video chat schedule. We always cover a lot of ground and have fun. Remember that you don't need any previous knowledge, and you can be passive in the chat.

* Jam with me - you will find active collabs here.

* Post a topic on this board, guitar related or not - doesn't matter! You will find that chatting with instructors boosts your motivation to practice.

* You haven't missed my latest video lessons, have you?

* Oh and did you know that to become a killer guitarist you just need to focus on one thing? Everything
else is secondary. Pm me and I will explain.

Well, I'll have to think twice about that, but I think I can work with that explanation smile.gif However, that kind of theory is still a bit new for me - I have problems creating a relation between e.g. "iim7" and a chord, as well as the relation between the modes and chords. I'll look into it.

Mate, all in a nutshell - any mode can be harmonized exactly as the major scale - deriving a chord from each step of the scale, right?

Then, in the case of the diatonic modes - they are permutations of the major scale - you rearrange the notes in a natural major scale and you obtain various modes, ok?

Now if you harmonize a major scale, the resulting chords, will represent various scale steps for modes which are harmonized. I.e. If we harmonize the C major scale we get: CM7 Dm7 Em7 FM7 G7 Am7 Bm7b5 CM7

If we want to deal with the G mixolydian mode, for instance, we discover that it is formed on the 5th step of C major so, G mixolydian is actually G A B C D E F G and if we harmonize it, we get G7 Am7 Bm7b5 CM7 Dm7 Em7 FM7 G7. Nothing but permuting the chords according to the mode formula.

So, now, the first note from the mode we discovered takes number 1 instead of having number 5 (it is now the root of the Mixolydian mode rather than the 5th of the natural major - Ionian mode)

So instead of V7 it becomes I7 smile.gif clear? biggrin.gif
