What's the point of paying people money to cut 1 cm of hair??? Can't you get your mum to do that?

Way way way back when I was able to grow long hair *sniff* I had a simlilar experience, it was a barber shop and he was holding the mirror at the back of my head (like they do) and I was like "errmm what the hell have you done???" he tried telling me that he had to cut that much off in order for it to grow (which I believe is true, but not 3 or 4 inches!!!) he then made me a deal and I went back to him every three weeks for a tiny trim, normally charges (at that time) £5 (UK stirling) for a hair cut but charged me £1 until it had reached a decent length again, needless to say when it did reach a decent length I NEVER went back again!

I cut my wifes hair now for the same reason, I think they think they`ve GOT to cut lots of hair off to make it look good for the extortionate amount that they now charge! apologies to any barbers/hairdressers out there but its a pet hate of mine laugh.gif

edit: ps. going bald/thinning is great, I bought a pair of clippers and do my own, the clippers paid for themselves the first time I used them!

I was considering going to the barbers for a trim, but im still unsure.. I think it just might be safer to spends a couple painful hours trying to do it myself.

I really should get my fringe trimmed - it goes right down to the bottom of my face, but I had a similar experience with hair butcher-y so I've decided that its just going to have to grow out. tongue.gif
