Many years ago when I was young I used to do cat 1 road cycle races. Racing and cars doesn't mix well so I've had various bones broke. I once had my knee pulped when a car driver opened her door and I hit it hard at speed with my knee. It also shoved my fibula up in to my nee cap and out through the back of my leg. My fibula has popped out a couple of times since even when it isnn't stressed.
It's pretty common for road race cyclists to finish races with disolocated and broken bones often sustained 10s of km before the end. I always remember the 1987 Tour de France when Herrera crashed down a ravine on a descent in the Pyrinies. He climbed back up and got hit by a team car as he was getting on his bike. He finished the stage.
