I think the melodies that the band are playing are good but the dupstep noise is just way too invasive. It should be more subtle but it's like a kid has been let loose with a load of buttons that make robot sounds ! tongue.gif

I think that they are one of the best pop/rock/electronic bands at the moment. Their live concerts are epic, and Bellamy is a VERY talented musicians.

I agree with Ben, the dubstep overpowers the song. Nothing else seems to add anything at all to it.

Yes you can hear a Skrillex influence cool.gif .

Overall it's more post-dubstep then dubstep to me though it doesn't help listening on a pc. Some of the audio sounds sheared.

When you want to emphasise a particular beat in a kickdrum pattern you can follow with a bass synth. Synth may be an octave below the fundamental of the kick and when the beat you want hits the synth goes boom - hence why it's called subdrop. It's done a lot in dub reggae, dub step and some heavy metal but not so much in post-dubstep.

I've been collaborating with two people who regularly guest with Zion Train. Dat iz why I iz dahn wid de kidz tongue.gif .

(In reality I'm not 'dahn' either and as my daughter says look like a sad old git when I pretend to be wink.gif .)
