Nope didn't think so either. We all know parents don't get this.

I can show you how to be the virtuoso your folks could only dream about, but I first need your help:

* Pm me and I will show you where to start. I am online every day and I will help you out directly!

* Join my mentoring program. I will customize your learning experience in a way you haven't experienced before. We will have regular contact so that you can remain inspired every day and eventually reach a new level.

* Join my next video chat! GMC startpage holds a video chat schedule. We always cover a lot of ground and have fun. Remember that you don't need any previous knowledge, and you can be passive in the chat.

* Jam with me - you will find active collabs here.

* Post a topic on this board, guitar related or not - doesn't matter! You will find that chatting with instructors boosts your motivation to practice.

* You haven't missed my latest video lessons, have you?

* Oh and did you know that to become a killer guitarist you just need to focus on one thing? Everything
else is secondary. Pm me and I will explain.

Good work my friend! I gave you a 10! And I also want to start an appreciation thread for ya smile.gif You deserve it!

In the mean time, tell me, would you like to continue with tapping or should we also try something else? smile.gif

Thanks! I feel like I accomplished something! I think my riffing is really weak and can use some work, too. I started working on metal metrics 4 while I was battling the videos. I still have some work to do on that I think, but I'm close. Although tuning my guitar to drop C is going to require a setup (intonation most definately!) and its buzzing like a chainsaw (not in a good way! laugh.gif), I'm just going to go with it like that for awhile.

So, maybe another riffing lesson (or two?) And possibly reccomend an easy song or two with some riffing like that? I'm open to suggestions, as well!

I'll post a clip of how I'm doing with MM4 as soon as I get a chance.

Howdy mate! Looking forward for the vid and in the mean time, you could always tackle this one, for instance:

What say you? If you don't like it, we can always choose another one smile.gif

Great!

Here's a quick take of Metal Metrics 4. It's kinda out of tune. I'm having problems keeping it in tune, not sure why that is. After I tune it, the first take sounds ok, second is out of tune. Doesn't seem to be a problem with standard tuning. If you have any idea, let me know!

Anyway, let me know what I need to work on here!

Hmmm, indeed it seems out of tune at several spots. What sort of strings are you using?

Timing is generally good, but I would like you to pay attention on the spots where I am vibrating and using microbends biggrin.gif Please take a look at the original recording and try to spot them for your next take - keep this timing and add the articulation elements stated above for a great take!

I'm using Ernie Ball 10s. I tried it on another guitar and its ok, so I'm just going to use that. I'll keep messing with the othe to see if I can figure it out.

I'll keep working on the details and will post another take after I improve.

Hey mate! For drop C, they're kinda loose - I'd go for 11 - 56 hybrid strings. I am currently using Elixir 12 - 52 which are good, but a bit too rigid when dealing with bending and vibrato..

Let me see another take after you will focus on the details wink.gif

Ok - got the hybrid strings I think 10-56? Anyway, much better! Heres another shot. I'm struggling with the vibrato and stuff. The heavy bottom strings are tough to vibrate. And, after listening to this take, I think I added a couple of unnecessary palm mutes in there... Not sure what that's about! HAHA biggrin.gif

OH yeah! Everything is great aside from the vibrato in the first part, which needs to be wider and more violent and the palm muting in the first part, as you observed! Work on those and it's a wrap and ready for the REC zone if you'd like biggrin.gif

FINALLY!! I got one vid done last night, then locked out my account. mad.gif Anyway, as everyone seemed to notice, my guitar was REALLY out of tune. I had a short time for the take and putting the video together (which takes most of the time), that I didn't notice how BAD it was until today!

Also, STILL not 100% happy with the vibrato.

Well now, I'd very much like to see the new vid, but in the mean time, what do you mean by locking out of your account? Have you forgotten your password or something like that? Bogdan is the one person that can help out wink.gif

I'm all set now. I just uploaded the rec take then I was going to post here letting you know I did it. But before I could, I accidentally logged out, then entered the wrong password 10 time and it told me I had to wait, so I gave up for the night. All good now though!

I'm definately going to keep working on getting the groove right on metal metrics 4, though. and possibly even in tune! laugh.gif

Alright mate - I'd say you should widen your vibrato, so I think we should try this lesson to start with wink.gif

Please let me know if it's too difficult, ok?

This is good! I'm going to need to work on it quite a bit. My vibrato is horrible. Hopefully I'll put up the Papa Roach lesson tonight or tomorrow.

OK! Got the Papa Roach lesson uploaded to the Rec now! I didn't think about the delay before I started recording it. But, I think I got it close. Close enough I hope!

Now, off to improve my vibrato! biggrin.gif
