I was just inspired to start this post after seeing an old 2010 post from Mudbone which was resurrected by Blister (Nice find !) smile.gif

There's a cool video at the start of this thread;#entry607779

It's basically a message about what you can achieve despite your setbacks and people telling you that you can't do something.

We could say that all these great achievers became who they were despite their rejection and failures.

But, looking at everything in balance and knowing that we can draw life lessons from any situation.. we could also say that these great achievers became who they were because of their setbacks and failures.

It probably depends on your viewpoints towards life. Whether you're a person who harbours grudges or whether you see the payoffs from all the times people have upset you or been mean to you.

If that person had not been so dismissive, so convinced that you would become nothing, then maybe you would not have had the fire to prove them wrong. Sometimes we need a little kick (or a big kick) to start believing in ourselves and that kick can often come in an unpleasant form.

I bet that if you could ask every one of those names mentioned in the video if they were thankful towards those people for indirectly giving them fuel for their journey to success, they would say yes. Very thankful.

It's not easy, of course. Especially when people have really made your life difficult. Of course you're going to be angry at them. It's normal. It's ok to hate them for as long as you need to. But don't stay there forever. Have the necessary emotions you need to feel and let them purge themselves from your system and hopefully one day you can look back and say 'thank you' to those people who you once had considered your enemies. They were your angles disguised as devils.
