Good question! Sadly the Rock Hall of Fame has made many many questionable choices over the years and left out hordes of important artist in favor of very questionable picks. In fact, there are about 30 people who nominate the bands on the selection list each year. It's a closed process and we don't even know who the judges actually are other than that most of them are NON-MUSICIANS picked from the biz side of the "Music Business". As a result, I've noticed a serious lack of recognition for bands that focus on a high degree of musicianship in may (though not ALL) cases. For example, Progress Rock has been snubbed as a genre since the hall was founded. With the addition of Rush, the Hall is starting to try to make up for past mistakes.
