Hey guys! Just stumbled over this little video that our very own Brandon, aka thefireball posted on Facebook. It felt right to me, so I decided it should be brought to your attention as well. It points out three essential things you have to keep in mind when working on your studio pet project. Watch out, otherwise you'll end up just like me and the guys in Aria, releasing a 6 song EP after 3 years of work laugh.gif

Some great points here. It's sooooo easy to get buried under the shear amount of choices/options/plugins. It really helps to identify your tools for a given song/ep/album before you start and stick with it to allow yourself to focus on the music. If you change gears each time a new plugin comes out, things never seem to finish. I've been running in to this very problem myself. I"m a big fan of new plugins/software and it just never stops. Always new stuff to try. I'm going to have to declare an "Upgrade Ban" for at least long enough to complete some songs!

In the Aria case, it didn't take that long because of the pluggins or techie stuff, as it took a great deal of time for us to be fully satisfied with the song structures, vocal lines and such... Big BIG challenge laugh.gif
