I just bought Writing Better Lyrics by Pat Pattison

I know Brandon is in lyric writing mode and I'm sure a few others are too.

I thought we could share ideas and examples, and I'd write about the things I discover from this book.

Lyrics are something I've always said I'm bad at writing but never really practiced writing creatively on a daily or weekly basis.

Like everything practice is going to be the key.

when I had my old band I use to really like writing lyrics. I wrote quite a lot with the singer although looking back at them now they were all kinds similar rolleyes.gif
Ive never seen any type of instruction about lyric writing though, Id also be curious about the book.

You say 'minor pentatonic ' like it's a bad thing

A book about writing lyrics is a really interesting idea. I can't imagine how one could write a book about it.. so very interested to hear more smile.gif
