Sweeping feels really counter intuitive when you've put so much practice into Alt Picking. I had a couple 3 string arpeggios I had to sweep (albeit at quite slow speeds) for Gab's Modern Metal Collab, and it took a while to get the picking right and not to fall into Alt Picking automatically

There's this Englander who is really good at mixing picking and legato. For him, it probably comes natural, but if he was talked into doing a lesson on the technique he would be forced to analyze how he does it. If he only was an instructor at GMC. Oh wait, he is! I had totally missed this lesson, which does contain some of what is mentioned above. I coincidentally ran into it, just after the previous post. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/My-Picking-Patterns/ |

Thanks everybody for sharing their experiences here! Remember than Cosmin, Alex, Ben and Me have mentoring programs to help you with this things! You just have to contact us!
My experience with Sweep Picking started when I was 15, I was a big fan of Yngwie Malmsteen so I couldn't stop until I played the Demon Driver etude.... there wasn't a big trick, I repeated it lots of times and after some weeks, I could play it at tempo. It was like magic. So I can say that this is a good exercises for starting... -------------------- My lessons
