Double Boom !!

GAB: Sure! I can just make a REAPER project out of the files smile.gif I think? I'll give it a shot and put it up. Reaper is very handy and free to download if you don't have it!

And Todd, I don't have Logic but it would be great to open those files! Is there any other way to open them?

Hello guys! This is the final mix and video for the British Metal Collab 2!!! I want to thank everybody that participated on this new collab! I enjoyed this process a lot and the final video and mix are killer!!

HFH & WeePee: You guys are awesome! Your guitar duet is pure magic. You tones and licks really fits together. This new way of participating in collabs that HFH is starting to use is so cool. Thanks for experimenting and for this great participation!

MrRoberts: Wou!! You solo is like an explosion mate! I like how it starts and my attention keeps on during the whole solo. Thanks for you great job!

Slavenko: Hey mate! It’s cool to see you again in my collab!! I like your composition, it’s very unique for my ears. I can see an improvement in your solo composition, so you are on the right track. Keep on joining collabs!

Todd: Yeahhh I love your tone and your solo on this one. It’s a KILLER take. Your fast licks are so smooth. Thanks for your magic.

TheGroot: Great playing mate! I like those long notes and noises at the beginning of the take, and then those fantastic licks that we are used to hear from you. Thanks for joining again mate!

TonyK:
Hey mate! Your playing is very unique on this take. I think that your composition is cool, and that is just needs some technique adjustments and maybe a bit more definition in the last phrases.

Ulrik: I liked your attitude of joining the collab in spite of having a shorter solo! Sometimes we are not in a creative day and that’s something normal. And also let me say that this is not an easy backing to solo over it! Thanks for your take mate! 

Vonhotch: Hi mate! I like your solo! You rocker like Maiden over a Motorhead style collab so you really captured the British metal vibes! Well done!!

Sure thing! Here is a link to a zip file that has the REAPER project and all the audio files. Just double click on the archive to extract then open the folder and doubleclick on the reaper file (.rpp) I"ve got all the tracks but FINAL solo and BACKING muted so you will a BIG RED M. For each track you want to preview, unmute it and mute the one you don't need to hear anymore. I think I have 8 takes before I liked one enough to keep it, and that was after adlibbing for about 2 hours prior to recording. It's a very organic process usually. Almost like improv jazz smile.gif

Here is the link to download.

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/2761041/BritishMet...tMetalPart2.zip

Here is a link to download reaper

http://www.reaper.fm/download.php

NOTE: YOU"LL NEED THE OVERLOUD TH1 DEMO as that's what I"m using for fx.

http://overloud.com/download/request_th1triode_demo.php

Enjoy!!!!!

Todd

I totally agree with you, Slav. I always like DeGroot's takes on anything, and it's nice to hear the newer guy (Mroberts) pull off such an awesome solo. They both may even cut before you in line! cool.gif laugh.gif tongue.gif

You meant to say "manure" guy didn't you? ROFL!!

biggrin.gif

Thanks guys! I was inspired by all of you guys... especially when I submitted my first take and then saw what you guys were throwing out there I knew I either had to step it up or back out and save the embarrassment... Especially when I posted the first take and Gab said "really? that's your take? That sucks!" Ok, I'm paraphrasing a bit, but I knew what he meant... LOL!! Easy Gab, I'm joking... a little. laugh.gif

I'm with WP... when's the Brit Collab part III?

TONE PATCH: Forthcoming!

I created a Custom Guitar Patch in OVERLOUD TH1 just for this collab and I'm glad you liked it GAB! I wanted to make a "wet/effected" tone that still had enough bite to cut through the mix. I"ll be sharing the patch in this weekends VIDEO CHAT session.

As for the overall collab vid, FREAKING WOW!!!!!!! Everyone nailed their takes and the styles of play/solo construction was amazing. Everyone pulling so many elements together and making it all work. Great job guys and great collab GAB!!!!

Oh, the first one was Maiden? sorry, didn't recognized it.

Well, there're loads of NWOBHM, pick one of these : Judas Priest, Saxon, Venom, Demon..
