Rusty can kick Yngwie's ass all the way and he is still not a prick. Rusty in my opinion is the coolest shredder out there. He has monster skills comparing to Malmsteen and other so called "shredders" and he is still a very nice guy!! That's how it should be!

Yngwie inspired Rusty So? He was not THE ONLY influence. Shawn Lane was much bigger influence for Rusty than Yngwie. But anyway....Rusty is one level higher than Yngwie. And that's totally natural as playing skills increase with every upcoming generation of players. -------------------- "It isn't how many years you have been playing, it's how many hours." -- Prashant Aswani "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!" -- Michael Angelo Batio Check out my video lessons and instructor board! |

I just listened to bits and pieces from his self entitled album and it's clear Yngwie is a bigger influence for Rusty than Shawn Lane. Yngwies sound is far better though in my taste. I am listening to that album every day and honestly i don't see one thing of Yngwie's playing there. I DID listen to Yngwies albums and i have some of his live concerts and i still can't connect Rusty and Yngwie by their playing or music. And concerning sound: listen to Outworld to hear the real Rusty's sound. The self entitled album was recorded in his room with almost no recording equipment so you can't judge about his sound based on that.
