Work? Pfft. Who has time to work when a new guitar has arrived? They will understand. And if not, just play something amazing (because we all know that new awesome guitars instantly increase your skill ten fold) and their heads will explode in awesomeness or simply by the sight of your new axe! Yep - that worked Ok, so here she is ... And now I can play just like Pavel and Steve Vai This post has been edited by Andrew Cockburn: Jun 28 2007, 01:44 AM -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

because we all know that new awesome guitars instantly increase your skill ten fold Unfortunately that's not really true....i also had a bit of those thoughts about better playing or something...i was terribly surprised when i found out guitar has nothing to do with your playing skills The only thing that made life better is the awesome tremolo and and overall tuning of the guitar - it almost never looses the tune and the octaves can be perfectly tuned. the feeling I got when I opened the case for the first time was indescribable! Tell me about it! So how did you like the feel of the guitar? Did you have time to play it? Tell me about it! So how did you like the feel of the guitar? Did you have time to play it? Ahhhhh .... I was going to post a review last night .... but for some reason I spent the whole night playing my new guitar !!!! This guitar is a work of art, and it plays like a dream! The tremelo is awesome (never had a decent trem before), the hot pickups give awesome sustain and really boost your legato - the neck pickup gives a deep bluesy rock sound, the middle single coil gives you a cutting strat like rythm .... it palm mutes way better than my Variax(which is its main shortcoming) ... I could go on, but the summary is that it is all I wanted it to be! And no, I can't really play like Steve Vai or Pavel yet, but not only is this guitar easier and nicer to play, it is also more inspiring, so one day I will be playing like Pavel and Steve Vai -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

Just decided I am going to call her "The Lady Galadriel" ...
Why? Well, she's a Jem -> Gem, which makes her precious ... My Precious -> Gollum -> Tolkien -> The Lady Galadriel (since she is posessed of an Ethereal beauty!) Ok, a bit of a stretch, but I like the name so its ok! This post has been edited by Andrew Cockburn: Jun 28 2007, 05:26 PM -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

I think JEM works better with JAM -> play around!
So one of the possible nicks for guitar is "JAMEX" - Jam+Axe This post has been edited by Pavel: Jun 28 2007, 05:32 PM -------------------- "It isn't how many years you have been playing, it's how many hours." -- Prashant Aswani "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!" -- Michael Angelo Batio Check out my video lessons and instructor board! |

Congrats Andrew and enjoy.
Last guitar I bought - Gibson Standard with a red gloss tiger stripe top - I waited until my wife was away for a day for work. Bought it and hid the receipt and then lied about the price . Figured as she doesn't really know much about the guitars she'd never know the price. She still doesn't know how much I spent today - 3 years later... I have this on going 'discussion' with her - she thinks I have too many guitars (not true - only have 4) and I think she has too many shoes over 50 pairs). At the moment I'm edging towards getting a new guitar - if only she'd go away for a few days Cheers, T -------------------- Get your music professionally mastered by anl AES registered Mastering Engineer. Jem = your Gem => womans name + evil hard rock backwards message -> Meg :-) Oops, better keep that onbe quiet - she'll be asking who Meg is ... It's beautiful. It connects on so many levels man! The wine (? winerank? well, growing stuff then) inlays they connect to the elves being close to the nature, the pale white color. It's slim and elegant, yet deceptiv and powerful. Yes - I like this even more The growing thing is supposed to be "Tree of Life" whatever that is ... sounds very Elven though And I think Winerank would be Vine ... -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile
