I still have my GNX 3 fx pedal, since I still like the tones and it's been obsolete for 10 years. I wouldn't let that keep you from embracing technology. The only constant is change as they say, so technology like many things is a moving target. But I focus on the results more than anything else, so if a plugin, or bit of gear works for me I"ll keep using it. I think you may be just a bit pensive about diving in to technology in general which is understandable of course. It can be a bit of a jungle to navigate. I"d stay start small and cheap. Don't over spend or over commit to any one technology. Perhaps start with your phone. Android is great OS and IK multimedia fully supports it so grab a couple of apps and maybe get an audio Interface for your phone from IK multimedia. Bein able to have a full rig in your pocket, is a powerful thing. I was thinking about getting to visit the Thomann shop in Germany - that place has it all, doesn't it? I hear Malekko Echo 600 in action and it sounded amazing - very natural and organic sound. Heard good things about Carbon copy too - people say its a bit cold sounding though? One interesting pedal I heard so many times in action which is probably underrated is Boss DD-20 - some really cool delay sounds can be got from it!
